Hew hand builds each piece using both traditional and contemporary joinery techniques ensuring each piece is built with integrity and the inherent ability to become an heirloom, lasting through the ebb and flows of trends and use. We try to embody sustainable practices, first with quality, lasting construction but also responsible material sourcing and using environmentally sensitive finishes.

Been working on some new brushes for the upcoming 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗼 at my shop. These bench brushes are made from soft horse hair bristles sewn to the handle with little leather hangers and carved details. Will have a handful available of differing flavors.

Pretty happy with how they turned out, could turn in to a workshop in the future. Thoughts?

Gearing up for our 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗼 this weekend. My wife has been hard at work pouring candles so you can stock back up for the holiday!

Candles are made with US soy wax and ceramic vessels.

This Saturday (November 29th) we are hosting an 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗼 at our wood shop and we have some great makers joining us to round out our holiday market and bring you lots of amazing work.

𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘄 𝗔𝗯𝗮𝗱𝗶 is a talented glass artist. His work is often defined by careful detail and spans from vessels to lighting, decorative to the utilitarian. Matt makes beautiful work.

Only a week and a half until our 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗼 happening on Saturday, November 29th! We hope you’ll be able to attend - comment below if you’re coming. We’re excited to host this market and share the shop with some of our favorite Portland artists and craftspeople.

𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗶 𝗩𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗲𝗵𝗺𝗮𝗻 is certainly a favorite ceramicist in our household - her mugs and bowls are in daily rotation. She crafts utilitarian ceramics that are simultaneously beautiful and timeless as much as they are functional.

Our 𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗡 𝗦𝗧𝗨𝗗𝗜𝗢 is coming up on the 29th and we’re looking forward to sharing a drink with you, chat it up, show the new shop, and of course share the wonderful work of the Portland art & craft community.

𝗬𝗢𝗡𝗘𝗭𝗔𝗪𝗔 𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥 will be bringing their stellar leather goods and Japanese knives. Takeshi Yonezawa is known for his impeccable leatherwork, craftsmanship, and lifelike sculptures (must see).
