Got this beauty all stripped and sanded! Had to touch up a few spots with wood filler but they should blend in nicely with a little color touch up. The trim around the top is a different wood so I will likely need to stain that. The inside of the bottom shelf sides are in bad shape. Missing sections of veneer. So I filled those with bondo and I am still up in the air on weather or not I should re veneer it or just paint it black. I do want to keep the base of the shelf mahogany so it might look cool with some black on the sides. But we will see ! I didn't expect anything less than a s**t ton of work to bring this piece back to it's orginal glory 🤣

I've been a long time advocate for citristrip! But it has failed me for the first time in my 10+ years of using it 😔 Lead paint is notoriously hard to remove and I've tried multiple different stripping agents on it and it just does NOT want to come out of those details ! So tomororw I will try something stronger and hopefully be able to tackle these turned legs 😅

I picked up this antique gem yesterday for 30 bucks !! I found it a unique cabinet and when I saw it in person a I realized it is actually a secretary desk missing the bottom cover/desk part. But that's ok! I already have a plan! I cannot wait to see what is under the 20+ coats of paint that are caked on it! I put money on this being mahogany! Which brings me to a question I have for you all....
What are your thoughts on Mahogany? Back when I first started everyone hated it cause it is so dark and red! I painted so many mahogany pieces over the years for people. Personally I am not a fan either. I prefer the lighter colored woods. But I am definitely wanting to bring this back to it's original glory and NOT repaint it! I will be listing it for sale so I am curious what you think about leaving it natural mahogany, or...doing my favorite thing, and bleaching it to give it a much lighter brown wood color ! 🤔

I've been procrastinating 🤣 But I finally started uploading my items to my Etsy shop. I only got a small amount of it on there but tomorrow is another day! So keep posted to my etsy shop as I will be uploading more over the next few days! And I am still working on even more, so new things will always be uploaded ! The sky is the limit with me ❤️

I restored this small antique washstand for my client. I lost my before pictures when I got a new phone 😭 But it was very dark and had layers of dirt and grime and you could barely see the beautiful tiger oak grain! So after I stripped it down I did bleach the wood before applying a stain in the color "aged oak" which brought it back more to it's natural oak color. I ended up removing the top as someone previously hacked up the back side to install what was probably a mirror or towel rack. Had to cut the wood flat and move the whole top back about 1/4". When I was removing it, it fell apart in 4 pieces so I had to glue and clamp each piece back together before re attaching it. There were no handles with this piece so I had to get a little creative. After purchasing 3 different kinds with no success on getting them to fit I had to bend each handle all around to make it work with the serpentine drawers! We were both very happy with the outcome! 😍

I spent an entire year refinishing this dresser. Little by little between jobs 😅 I made a video tutorial on the entire process but I just couldn't wait to share how it turned out! It sold recently before I even posted it, to someone local 🥰 I couldn't be more happy! And I cannot wait to do another piece like this! Stay tuned for the tutorial on what I went through refinishing this piece 😅

I have 4 coat hangers made from live edge ash wood. All stained in "aged oak" with an oil based finish. Two have 5 wrought iron hangers and two have 6 hangers. I just realized 2 of the photos do not show dimensions so feel free to message me for any additional info. Each one is unique and different and would add a lovely rustic touch to any entryway :-) and yes I made one for myself 😍

Just wanted to share the 2 new additions to our ever growing family 😍 My life is now complete 🤣 Everyone meet Finn and Fiona. They are 3 month old Nigerian Dwarf goats that make my heart melt into a literal puddle 🥰
