I refinished this oak console cabinet a month or so back for my client and he finally got his live edge top in that he ordered and waited ions for! He just sent me pictures after he installed and oiled it!
Absolutly beautiful! Adds so much character to this piece and I feel so happy to be a apart of transforming an old piece of furniture they have had for many many years !!! Now it has a new life for many more years to come :-) ❤️

2 seasons, 10lbs and a new hair style went by since I've had a chance to work more on this antique dresser. 😅 Figured I'd share a little on my upcoming video tutorial!

I spent the last 3 days rolling paint and primer on the 10/20 foot addition we added to the workshop last year. 8 feet for the chickens and the rest for my sanding room. 😅 I didn't feel like covering all the windows and spraying but I regret that decision 🤣 however, I am almost done. Hoped to finish that top section today but it started raining. So hopefully only one more day to finish that and the one 10 foot side. at least the girls got a nice day in the yard yesterday after I accidentally didn't latch the gate ❤️ Painting T1-11 SUCKS!!! 😅😅😅

Finished up this large console table for my client. The first time around didn't quite come out the way she wanted it. But luckily I had something in mind that I think ended up being the only process to get this perfect authentically aged wood look! This piece has a very proud grain so it limited me to doing any heavy sanding so I started with stripping the existing finish off with laquer thinner. Once I got the old laquer finish off I used a product called "weather wash" in the color "Oaked", however after applying 3 coats of the weather wash it was still showing too much brown. So I went over the entire piece with 3 coats of a 2 part wood bleach which bleached out the weather wash as well as bleaching out the natural wood tannins. Once I had a nice bleached base I re applied the weather wash and got this beautiful aged wood look. 😍😍😍
I finished with 3 coats of general finishes water based high performance top coat in dead flat and 2 additional coats of sealing wax for added protection.

I put way too many hours into these doors already to just give up so I I ended up finishing the 2 I started and only bought 1 new one! The one exterior door is just primed as it needs to be cut down to fit the opening. Then I will paint it. But all the hard work is done and now I can move on to something I enjoy much more 🤣 I have 2 more doors to paint in my near future so I'll be sure to share that as well :-)

Do you know what my favorite thing about refinishing doors is ?.....
Nothing, abosolutly nothing ! I have 2 interior doors and one exterior door with a lot of doggie damage. I spent all day on this one door, went through half a container of bondo. Realized I have a good 7 more hours of work to put into fixing the damage just on this door in order to make it look new again. I finished for the day, came upstairs and realized these doors are brand new at lowes for 200 bucks. 🤣🤣🤣 Lesson learned. Sometimes there are things that are NOT worth the time and energy to refinish. I will keep the one door that's not painted for the exterior door since that one is in the best shape over all. So it cost less than half the money to buy 3 new doors than it would cost me with time and materials to refinish them. 🤷‍♀️ sometimes it is more worth it just call it and realize something just isn't worth the time and money.

Some pieces I finished up recently for some clients. :-) the blue cabinet was painted in SW Blustery Sky with a black glaze and will be getting a live edge maple top installed. I can't wait to see how it turns out! Bookshelf painted in BM Ice Mist 😍

Working on this bar cabinet for my client. He's having a live edge maple top made for it. The color is blustery sky. I'm in LOVE! I'm gonna be adding a black glaze to this so stay tuned for the final results :-)
