This one was a really fun build. Everything here is solid white oak, the table, the bench, every inch of it. My aim was for the design to feel warm and grounded, with soft corners, a gentle edge profile, and a few small details that make it feel special without trying too hard.

The legs and spindles were turned by the ever-talented Hanna Dausch .work . They completely bring the piece to life and tie the whole set together.

That little bench seat cutout started as a quick idea in the shop and ended up becoming one of my favorite parts. It adds comfort, but it also gives the bench a subtle movement that balances the whole design.

Really proud of how this one came together, a true collaboration and one-of-a-kind dining set that’ll (hopefully) be gathering people for a long time.

Feeling incredibly honored to be featured in Kingdom Magazine! The article highlights a special project from last year - crafting the bart top for . An awesome new mircrobrewery in Oakmont, PA. The build is more than just a surface; it’s a connection to the neighborhood, built from local materials, by a local craftsman and for the local community to gather for good drinks and great conversations.

Beyond the projects, the feature touches on the roots of Orkis Woodwork, and how a deep family history of craftsmanship continues to shape my work today.

Huge thank you to for the opportunity and to everyone who has supported my work! 🙏 Stop by Local Remedy to see the bar in person and raise a glass to local communities that bring us together!

Finally a big thank you to for helping me quickly turn around some awesome shop photos!

Last year brought plenty of exciting projects, but one standout was creating these stunning bar tops for in Oakmont, PA. They’re officially celebrating their grand opening today, January 3rd!

Crafted from locally milled and dried maple logs, this project presented some unique challenges, but the end result is something we’re incredibly proud of.

If you’re local to the Pittsburgh area, check them out and enjoy some top quality brews!

Shoutout to Steve at for the kiln drying services

Prior to the holidays I had the opportunity to assemble four custom radiator covers for a lovely couple in . Constructed out of solid white oak, the covers were designed to mimic a mission style to fit in with other elements throughout the home.

These were a ton of fun to build, but I definitely underestimated the amount of time it took me to apply the finish. Regardless, I was thrilled with how they turned out!

All of my work is custom, and it is hard to judge how long it’ll take me to complete a specific or new task. However, when it comes down to sacrificing time vs. quality, I will always choose time. My primary goal is to provide quality, heirloom furniture and cabinetry. The alternative is not an option.

At the end of the summer, I had the pleasure of crafting this custom dining table from an impressive single slab of black walnut. At 10 feet long, this table is a stunning centerpiece, showcasing the unique character of this beautiful wood.

Each inlay was meticulously hand-cut, not only to stabilize the natural cracks in the wood but also to enhance the organic flow and figure within the slab.

The base, made of laminated walnut, complements the top’s natural edge. Its elegant design provides a sturdy support while maintaining a minimalist aesthetic that lets the wood speak for itself.

The process of building this table was incredibly rewarding, especially knowing that the result was a functional work of art that will be the heart of a beautiful home.

Revisiting this recent built-in project that is wrapping up soon! With how many little details that went into this project, I’m stoked with how this came together.

At the heart of this project is a commitment to craftsmanship and detail. From the end panels and fillers that are meticulously scribed to create a seamless transition, to the sleek pocket doors that adds that touch of modern elegance.

Another 2023 post to catch up on…. I wrapped up this white oak mantel project right after Thanksgiving. As you can see from the before photo, there was a lot of room for improvement!

Prior to my involvement, the clients had already upgraded the hearth and area around the fireplace with a granite stone surface.

I designed the mantel to overlap the new granite to ensure everything looks seamless once it is installed. To do this, I had to build out from the existing brick 1.5” around the granite. The benefit, was that it allowed me to create a nailer for mounting the new mantel, face, and pilasters.

Overall, this build was a fun challenge, and I’m always happy to transform an eyesore into a standout centerpiece.

What a whirlwind end to 2023! I’m behind on posting, but I wrapped up this project in early September. From the start, the client wanted to include library lights and add accents above their existing fireplace mantel to add some style to the project. So, when I was working out the design I wanted to add mouldings around the lights and on the doors that would tie everything together. I couldn’t be happier with the end result and it all came together!

Another set of built-ins in the books!

I recently wrapped up this project for some awesome clients to transform their living room area. Their goal was for increase functionality with aesthetic, and we were able to deliver!

We decided to go with a painted exterior, walnut countertop and shelving, recessed LED lighting on the shelves and large cabinet storage underneath.

This weekend I was able to get together with the friends who I built this kitchen for earlier this summer and I realized I never posted an update when the countertops were finished for this awesome job!

As you can see, they went all out in the island! I was pumped when and asked me to take on this job b/c, not only are they my two closest friends, but I knew they’d have some kick a$$ features in the design!

After a few years of being on the personal “to do” list, I was finally able to carve out some time to complete this little humidor box for the old man’s 60th birthday.

This is the first decorative type box I’ve undertaken. The box has continuous grain on all 4 sides, maple splines for structure and decoration, and some awesome figured walnut on the lid. The inside is lined with Spanish cedar, which has made my shop smell amazing!

Happy birthday to the person who’s had the most influence on what I do. Thanks for always being there to help out when I need it most. Love ya dad!

Special thanks to **rshop for helping to select some ci**rs for fill it with!
