She Deserves to receive a new client due to unavailable space in shelters.
Case #15
Homeless mother with daughter fleeing abuse.
Homeless mother with teenage daughter: Case #15
Fleeing mother from her abuser. She left while he was out of town. She called the shelters for 2 days and was unable to get in. She is homeless with a teenage daughter. A family has offered temp space for her daughter. Another family has offered temp space for the mother until Feb. 21, 2022. The abuse is physical, mental, emotional, and financial. They are not married, so he controls and owns everything. She must leave with nothing and start all over.
Our plan:
- Get her into a hotel while we save enough for security deposit and 1st-month rent on an apartment.
- We have helped her secure a job, but it will take a couple of weeks before she starts working. She will be available for additional work through our cleaning service program "Maid with a Purpose" which allows our supporters to schedule a house cleaning and help her reach her financial goals. Our supporters can also schedule a house cleaning through our partners, ViraBusters. Please message us through this page to schedule your appt.
She has enough money to pay for almost one week in a hotel. She Deserves is looking for a room for rent, or discounted extended stay to get her off the street.
The support from the community will change the path for this family and get them safe! The community can offer their support through this page https://gofund.me/64d227fb

Here are a few words from this client we call "F"
Before talking to Susan Miller at She Deserves I found myself homeless, with little financial backup, in a town where I knew no one and had zero support. I felt alone, scared, hopeless. I did not know where I was going to find any support. After calling every shelter and being told they were all full, I felt despair I’d never felt before.
I spoke to Susan and she told me about She Deserves which helps women regain self-sufficiency. This gave me a great sense of relief, knowing I would get a chance to provide stability for my daughter and I.
For the first time, after talking to Susan, I became optimistic and could see the light at the beginning of my tunnel.
We talked about all my concerns- employment, and securing a safe place for my daughter and I.
The services and support of She Deserves are what I need because I don't have any family, friends, or connections in Pittsburgh because of the abusive relationship.
Thank you!
