Modtique Boutique is a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania business that was born from our love of antiques and our desire to merge it with today’s modern world. At Modtique Boutique our mission is to breathe new life into the forgotten by repurposing, or up-cycling, a variety of vintage items into new and imaginative pieces of useful art. We strive to provide quality in all of the items we up-cycle whether

we are
modernizing antiques or reinventing discarded pieces in unique ways. Merging functionality with style, we hope you find our items to be one of a kind and that you fall in love with them just as we have. Our goal will be to sponsor a child to go to camp through the American Diabetes Association. This is an organization very dear to our hearts.

✨ Progress update on this dresser set ✨

This one has been a true labor of love—and an honor. These are commissioned dressers that we were trusted to completely transform, and we don’t take that lightly.

Every single drawer—inside and out—has been hand sanded down to bare wood. And with this many drawers… that’s no small task 😅

The best part? Underneath all that old finish is beautiful solid maple, and even some gorgeous curly maple grain hiding in a few of the drawer fronts. Totally worth the effort to bring that character back to life.

This project has been all about teamwork + a whole lot of elbow grease, but we’re officially past the toughest part 🙌

Next up: tackling the sides and tops to bring it all together.

This little end table had great bones but was definitely feeling a bit dated with its heavy wood tones and worn finish. We saw the potential right away though—and gave it a whole new life!

After a full refresh, it’s now a light, bright, and modern piece with a soft neutral base, a beautifully updated top, and a fun pop of personality on the lower shelf. It went from overlooked to a statement piece that fits perfectly in today’s homes.

Proof that even the most tired pieces just need a little vision (and a lot of love) 💛

With a little vision (and a lot of elbow grease), this beauty got a fresh new life! The rich dark finish paired with the clean glass top completely transformed it into a modern, timeless piece that’s ready for a whole new home.

This antique level has been given a whole new life! Instead of sitting in a toolbox, it’s now a one-of-a-kind rustic coat rack—full of character, history, and purpose.

We kept the original wood, patina, and hardware details that make it so special, then added vintage-style hooks to turn it into something both functional and beautiful.

Perfect for an entryway, mudroom, or even a cozy cabin wall 🏡

We love pieces like this… where you can still see the story in the wood, but give it a fresh chapter.

Transformation Reveal!

What a difference a little vision (and a lot of elbow grease!) can make!

This vintage telephone table has been completely refreshed with Sherwin-Williams Totally Teal — a bold, vibrant pop of color that instantly modernizes the piece while still honoring its classic shape.

To ground it and add contrast, we finished the top in a rich black stain, giving it depth, character, and just the right amount of drama. The combination of teal and black creates such a striking, sophisticated look — perfect as a nightstand, accent table, or statement piece in any room.

This sweet vintage telephone table has been on our workbench for a few weeks now!

Solid wood, beautiful lines, and those classic turned legs — but the finish has definitely seen better days. We’ve stripped it down and prepped everything, and are excited to bring this piece back to life.

Stay tuned for the transformation… this one is going to be good!
