I have another question. What is the number 1 reason you haven't called us to schedule your piano tuning?

Here's a trivia question? Does a piano go out of tune the moment it sounds out of tune?

Mother's day will soon be upon us. Want a great gift idea? An in tune piano she can play to celebrate motherhood would be the perfect gift. Call today or send us a message to schedule your piano tuning. Even if it's after Mother's Day, it's still the gift that keeps playing.

The cold snap continues. Once things warm up, your piano will notice the change which in turn will affect its tuning. While your planning your first or next piano tuning, stay safe and warm.

One storm down and we are sure there's more to come. Piano tunings are similar. If we're caring for our pianos, after a piano tuning, one will and should follow. The time frame is six to twelve months, and if someone wanders passed the twelve month mark, the piano won't suddenly fall apart. :-) The piano starts to complain at twenty four months.

Time has a way of slipping by. When was the last time you had a routine dental visit? No sooner they hand you the bill, it's time to visit them again. The solution with any appointment like this that you know will arrive twice or at least once a year, is to makr your calendar. If you have one, a spouse and a calendar work great together too. "Honey, it's time to schedule Marchall's Piano Service." Some piano technicians schedule their next appointment at the time of the tuning, and this is a great idea too.

So, give us a call. Or, remind someone to contact us so we can get you on the calendar and a spouse's radar for your next and perhaps first piano tuning.

People are digging out from the recent snow storm. More snow will be coming we are hearing, but time will tell. Despite the weather, pianos still need tuning. What can we do?

The answer, we'll do the best we can. So lets schedule your piano tuning and work with the weather. Stay safe and warm. Keep your piano away from the cold if possible. Keep the coffee hot.

It's the day before the big snow storm the're predicting. We hope everyone is prepared.

Like preparing for a storm, it's possible to prepare for your next piano tuning/service. Always have the piano ready i.e books off the top any fragile items are removed off the top/lid. Also be prepared with amy questions you may have and always have your calendar marked for the big day. We always contact the customer the day prior to their appointment via text. Confirming let's us know you'll be there and awaiting the magic of seeing the transformation from an out of tune instrument into a well tuned instrument.

So enjoy your snow day tomorrow. Check your calendars and contact us so we can schedule your next piano tuning.

Yesterday I received a call concerning a piano that "keeps going out of tune" according to the customer. We only spoke. I will visit the piano when we schedule, but this person had two piano techs visit the piano. Each of them had their suggestions and recommendations.

There are many factors that affect a pianos tuning such as swings in temperature and humidity, the need for necessary repairs like a cracked pin block for example. Or, perhaps the piano techs the person hired caused the issue. I will not discuss another piano techs abilities but will ask the customer what they suggested which I did yesterday.

You might be wondering what the reason for this post entails. The point is, there always comes a time when a piano will require repair and regular maintenance aside from tuning alone. This particular piano is about 40 years old.

If you run into a situation like this it is best to keep an open mind rather than blaming the piano tech or techs. It's important to understand the factors that affect a piano over time asside from normal playing. Also bear in mind when purchasing a used piano or Heaven forbid, acquire a free one, you are purchasing the pianos history, but I'll get into this in another post.

In the case of this piano, the customer purchased it brand new. when the time comes for me to visit this piano, I'll share the outcome. It will be in a few months.
