There are moments that don’t feel real until you’re standing in them.

This weekend, DCA WOODWORKS had the absolute honor of gifting our handcrafted Camp Crystal Lake Logbook to the legend himself — Kane Hodder.

Watching Kane flip through it, study the details, and genuinely connect with the piece was something we won’t forget. From the weathered finish to the blood-red lettering and camp-inspired design, this one was built with pure slasher nostalgia in mind.

But the craziest part?

He told us he’s KEEPING it in his office.

As lifelong horror fans, hearing that from the man behind Jason Voorhees himself is surreal. This wasn’t just another piece of horror decor for us — it was a tribute to a franchise and character that shaped an entire generation of horror fans.

Handmade. Wood-burned. Built by horror fans for horror fans.

Some things you make to sell.
Some things you make because they mean something to you.

This Friday the 13th inspired Camp Crystal Lake Logbook is one of those pieces.

Handmade here at DCA WOODWORKS, this stash book was built with blood-splatter detailing, distressed edges, and a custom “Kill Them For Mommy” interior design inspired by one of the greatest slashers of all time. The goal was to make it feel like something pulled straight from the cabins at Camp Crystal Lake itself.

And this weekend… this one isn’t going to a customer.

We’re gifting it to the legend himself — Kane Hodder.

As lifelong horror fans, moments like this are the reason we started creating horror decor in the first place. Not just to make products… but to make pieces that feel like they belong inside the worlds we grew up watching.

No lasers. No mass production. Just wood, paint, fire, late nights in the shop, and a love for horror.

🎪 He didn’t say a word… he just took it.

We had this piece sitting on the table at Chiller Theatre — just another killer addition to the lineup — when Art the Clown stopped in front of the booth.

No introduction. No smile.

He just stared at it for a second…
then slowly reached out… picked it up…

…and held it out like it already belonged to him.

Yeah — that moment stuck with us.
So this one? This one’s got a story baked into it.

There are horror movies you like… and then there are the ones that stay with you forever.

For me, The Exorcist was never just a movie—it was the movie. The one that got under my skin and never really left.

This weekend at Chiller Theatre, I had one of those full-circle moments.

I got to meet Linda Blair.

Not only was she incredibly kind and down-to-earth, but she signed one of my personal favorites from the collection—my Regan “Floating” Funko Pop… and she didn’t hold back 🔥

“Sweet Dreams!” written in that unmistakable split-pea green… yeah, it hits DIFFERENT when it’s right there in your hands.

Moments like this remind me why I started DCA WOODWORKS in the first place. It’s more than just making horror-inspired pieces—it’s about the connection to the films, the characters, and the legends behind them.

Safe to say… a little bit of that energy is definitely coming back to the shop with me.

Some movies entertain you.
Some movies stick with you.
And then there’s that one…

For me, this was the only one that ever truly got under my skin.

The first time I saw it, it wasn’t jump scares… it was the feeling. The silence. The tension. The kind of fear that lingers long after the screen goes black. The kind that makes you think twice about the dark hallway… or the stairs… when the house is quiet.

That’s exactly what inspired this piece.

This Exorcist-inspired key rack was built to capture that same uneasy vibe — the shadows, the presence, the feeling that something isn’t quite right. From the burned wood to the split pea puke green lettering dripping down the grain, every detail was meant to feel like it came straight out of a nightmare you don’t forget.

And yeah… it still creeps me out a little.

They say if you stay in Derry long enough… you start to notice things.

And sometimes… something follows you home. 🎈

This weekend at Chiller Theatre, I’m bringing something new out of the shadows —
the “Welcome to Derry” key rack.

Handcrafted, distressed, and finished with that raw DCA feel… like it’s been hanging in that town for a long time. Maybe longer than it should have.

Four hooks. Four places to hang your keys.
Just… make sure they’re still there in the morning.

I’ll have a limited number of these at the table — and if you’ve been to my booth before, you already know… once they’re gone, they’re gone.
