Just sharing a few pics of the booths. The fairy lamps have been selling like crazy. We’ve been restocking with what we have, but we’re getting down to the more common ones now. Found two hens on nests and added them today, along with some other cuties. Stop by Schoolhouse Antiques to check it out! You can find me on the lower level.

This buffet belonged to my own Gram, and I recently acquired it after a house clean out when my uncle passed away. While I don’t have a place for it in my own house, unfortunately, I knew I could fix it up to be a special piece for someone else! It had great bones, but it needed a little cosmetic TLC. I painted the base with Dixie Belle’s all-in-one (primer/paint/sealer) in the color Anchor. The top was sanded, stained, glazed to give it a nice warm tone, and then sealed with a few coats of glossy poly. There is a longer drawer on the top, four other drawers, and two doors that open up to additional storage. One side is completely open and the other side has a shelf. The drawers were lined with a pretty, removable wallpaper, and new gold hardware was added. The drawers were built with dovetailed construction, and the buffet sits on its original wheels, so it’s pretty easy to move it (but don’t be fooled; she’s heavy and you’ll need help to load it). It measures: 49”wide x 33”tall x 18 1/2” deep. Price: $185 plus tax. It’s available at Schoolhouse Antiques, 103 N. College St, Palmyra PA 17078. Hours: 10-5 Wednesday through Sunday (closed Mondays and Tuesdays). Booth #76, Antique & Shabby Chic, lower level.

Did another decoupage piece. This went a little easier than the first. Found this cute old piece (the joints date it between 1870-1900) but it had a bad finish. I sanded her down, gave her a base coat of gray chalk paint, added the highland cow decoupage paper, and then blended the paint to cover the remainder of the front and both sides. It reminded me of the good old sponge-painting days! I sanded the drawers inside and out and gave them a feed and wax conditioner and lined the drawers with wood-look paper. I tried to make the top look like old wood as well, so I dry brushed layers af brown, white and gray paints to try to get that look. It sits on the original wood casters, so it was very easy to move around. I listed it this morning and she sold pretty quickly. I have to say that I wasn’t surprised, because everyone is loving the highland cows right now! It was a cute and fun little piece!

My first time using decoupage paper on furniture. Even after watching videos for tips, I still struggled with a few wrinkles. I definitely prefer the rub-on transfers, but there are so many awesome options with decoupage! My customer wanted to keep this old piece because of its unique dropdown desk drawer. I think she’s a beauty🖤🐴

Pretty side table painted with DixieBelle’s all-in-one (primer, paint, sealer) in the color Anchor (black). The top was sanded bare, tan washed and then glazed for this perfect, light brown finish. It was sealed with a few coats of Polycrylic in a matte finish, but it still has a little shine! I love the curvy shape of this piece! A perfect, antique piece suitable for any room. She sits on her original, wood casters. Measurements: 29 1/2” wide x 21 1/4” deep x 29 1/4” tall. Price: $125 plus tax. Waiting for you at Schoolhouse Antiques, 103 N. College Street, Palmyra PA 17078. Open 10-5 Wednesday through Sunday. Booth #76, Antique & Shabby Chic, lower level.

Picked up this dresser to refinish for my son. He didn’t like the scrollwork at the bottom and wanted it to look more modern. We removed the old base and built a new base out of red oak. I blackwashed the base, painted the whole piece black, and added some modern drawer pulls. I think it changed the whole look of the piece. All dovetailed drawers and super heavy - the older pieces were definitely built to last! What do you think?

Who couldn’t use a few extra tables? This set is perfect because they neatly stack away. I painted the chunky bases with Waverly chalk paint in the color Mineral - a very neutral tan - and then lightly distressed them before sealing with a furniture wax. The tops were sanded, white washed, tan washed, then sealed with a few coats of poly. Use them as plant stands, side tables, in small spaces for storage and display. The largest table measures about 24” wide x 18 1/4” tall x 16” deep; the middle table is 17” tall x 17 1/2” wide; the smallest table is 16 1/4” tall x 12” square. Priced at $85 plus tax for the set of three. Available at Schoolhouse Antiques, 103 N. College Street, Palmyra PA 17078. Hours: 10-5 Wednesdays through Sundays. Booth #76, Antique & Shabby Chic, lower level.

This antique piece was a little weather-worn when I bought it - and the door was locked and there was no key! But what a great antique piece - she has good bones! What more can you say about a solid oak piece with curved glass? I gave her a good sanding and cleaning and then refreshed her with a custom paint color. I think it’s more on the sage green side, but I do see some blue/gray undertones. I lined the back with a removable wallpaper in a beautiful blue/green/tan floral print. The removable, glass shelves have plate grooves. I replaced the lock with a new one, so now she has a key to keep her locked up if needed. This piece measures about 60” tall x 34 1/2” wide x 14 3/4” deep. Priced at $265 plus tax. Come see how pretty it is in person at Schoolhouse Antiques, 103 N. College Street, Palmyra PA 17078. Hours: 10-5 Wednesdays through Sundays. Booth #76, Antique & Shabby Chic, lower level.

I love picking up these cool, old pieces! This one required a bit of elbow grease to sand her down smooth, but it was all worth it! She was painted with Waverly’s chalk paint in the color Ink, lightly distressed and sealed with clear and black waxes. The backboard and shelves were sanded bare, tan washed then glazed to give them a warm, natural tone. The skeleton key was missing, so she no longer locked. I replaced the lock and key and buffed the hardware up a little. Can we talk about the carved details and that wavy glass?!😍🥰 a gorgeous piece to display all of your pretty things! The three shelves are removable for transport. This piece measures 65” tall x 35 1/2” wide x 15” deep. Priced at: $275 plus tax. Come and check it out in person at Schoolhouse Antiques, 103 N. College Street, Palmyra PA 17078. Open 10-5 Wednesdays through Sundays. Booth #76, lower level.
