The Chair Affair for Mahaska Hospice

The Chair Affair for Mahaska Hospice The Chair Affair is a benefit auction for the Mahaska Hospice Auxiliary. Local businesses, artisians, and civic organizations will decorate or donate chairs.

We will then hold a public event to auction the chairs.

Must tell you I am utterly physically and emotionally exhausted this morning after everything coming to the pinnacle last night. The Chair Affair for Mahaska Hospice auction was a great success. We don't have all of the final figure in yet, but it appears to have been a record-setting event....in excess of $15,000 to benefit our local hospice care.

I would like to thank EVERYONE who helped plan, donated chairs, attended, bid....and the list goes on.

The pictures below will remind you why we work so tirelessly to make this happen. Right here in Mahaska County we have a beautiful, homey place for end of life care. Patients have the dignity of being in a caring, warm environment that is so family friendly. Our Serenity House and staff provide amazing health care, but even more so...incredible human care for the patients and their families as they go through tough times.

We are so lucky that Mahaska Health Partnership had the vision to bring the Serenity House to Oskaloosa in 2010.

Thank you again. I am blessed to have been part of such a magical experience. My life will never be the same again. — with Ruthi Mead- Rogers and 5 others.
