A few more pictures of the 'Lishman Rocker' that I recently completed.

The chairs designer, Bill Lishman, asked me to build this for him in 2013. Bill had fabricated many of these chairs in stainless steel in the late 70's/early 80's but said he was interested in seeing one made from wood. Sadly, Bill passed away in 2017 before we had the chance to collaborate, but with the support and blessing of his family I was able to get the project done this year.

Bill's extraordinary design is fun and very comfortable, and has a much longer range of motion than your typical rocking chair.

Bent lamination's of cherry were used for the curvy parts, while the seat and backrest are solid cherry. Finish is varnish oil and beeswax.

The backrest has Paula Lishman's logo carved into it, to honour Paula's legacy. Paula Passed away in December, 2025.
