Filled our raised beds the smart way šŸŒ±

Instead of spending a fortune on soil, we layered:
ā€¢ yard waste (leaves + sticks)
ā€¢ bulk garden soil
ā€¢ and finished with a high-quality raised bed mix

That top layer is what your plants actually grow inā€”donā€™t skip it.

I grabbed mine during SpringFest at Loweā€™s (so many good deals right now šŸ‘€) and linked everything I used in my bio.

Why we built our garage apartmentā€¦.

1. To serve as an income producing propertyā€¦ itā€™s my favorite property to manage bc itā€™s literally in my backyard!

2. Well our old one looked like it was going to fall down so we were going to build a new garage no matter what. So it was worth it to us to invest in the additional living space above it.

3. We host friends and family from out of town quite a lot. Itā€™s something we live to do! And having a design space where they can stay and I donā€™t have to freak if they wake my kids up at night is such a blessingā€¦ I definitely donā€™t take it for granted!!

Our little family grew a tiny bit bigger this week šŸ©· We welcomed our baby girl, Sawyer Kate with open arms (and a few love slaps from Scotty). And she gets to share a birthday with her daddy forever!!

Itā€™s been hard to keep this very big part of our lives off social media the last 9 months, especially in a space where I usually share everything, but it was honestly just what I wanted ā€” a little privacy on this platform. A season to step back, to live it instead of posting it, and to hold something just for us before opening it up to the world.

Feeling so grateful for a healthy baby, a body that carried her, the unmedicated birth I planned for and this new chapter for our family. She is already so deeply loved. Welcome to the world, SKšŸ¤
