“Federation Gertie” is a tribute to Gertrude Weil (1879-1971), an activist from Goldsboro, NC. Gertrude earned the name “Federation Gertie” for her passion for civic reform. She fought tirelessly for women’s rights, labor reform, and desegregation. She was also one of the originators of the League of Women Voters in North Carolina.

we are re-opened. we have paintings, photos, hand made sweaters to order, hats, vintage and antique jewelry, quilts by commission, funky furniture, vintage wallpaper, collectables,art to wear, upcycled garments, alla kinda stuff. mail order or by appt in new studio. photos posted soon. we are also an artists' co-op and willing to feature the work of others. see etsy shop coming soon. affiliated with FIREFLY UNIVERSITY and ART AGAINST THE STORM. WHA-HOO.

frosting will be back in business in another month or so. the studio in the art barn is progressing rapidly. we have the happy find of a new knitter who is creating fine new sweaters for reasonable rates. we hope to recreate a website for all the goodies. meanwhile, leave notes here or in my messages.
