Neighborhood robins have built homes in the last two things I've built around the house. This makes me very happy.

Tarpentry, tarp - 'n - tree. Noun.

The preparations one makes to affix a tarp to a substrate that should, in fact, require a permanent roof.

Example: "I was going to build a woodshed, but I did some tarpentry over the weekend instead and now I shouldn't need to."

Life's too short for tarpentry, buy a hammer.
