Before and after pictures of a Stanley No 888 tool box. This toolbox was originally offered by Stanley Works for the Boy Scouts of America. It was offered in 1921 and filled with tools. The amount of tools that was filled with depended on what assortment you bought. For example, this toolbox and assortment A which consisted of 32 tools sold for $35 in 1921. Blow you will see a list of assortment A and some other brochures.
I took this box completely apart repaired the cracked panels, cleaned it with mineral spirits, sanded it and re-stained it with Minwax dark walnut. I then applied tried and true Danish oil and buffed it with a wax paste from Wood by Wright.
