Day 9 of the 30 day creation challenge!
My new sewing chair!

As my projects kept going, my sewing room started growing. I wanted a fun, bold, chair the match my room and spread some creativity so I picked this one up of Facebook marketplace for $10.

I repainted the wood, removed the springs in the seat, re-stretched the supports, replaced the seat with more comfortable foam, and covered it with some fun fabric!

Day 8 of the 30 day creation challenge!

My first commission!

I met my first customers in the aisle of a local fabric store and gave them some advice on choosing the right fabric for their couch. By the end of the conversation they had asked me to make them myself, which I warned them I hadn’t done before but would do my best.

A week or so later they had basically a brand new couch! I even pattern matched the seams because of the obvious pattern.

Day 7 of the 30 day creation challenge!

Custom blankets for Amber and Daisy!

Paw patrol and butterflies, per request, for ambers birthday! Also this was my first project with my new machine, my husqvarna Viking Epic (last photo).

I’ve barely scratched the surface with what my machine can do, but we’re still learning!

Day 6 of the 30 day creation challenge!

My first (and probably last) quilt 😂

Quilting is completely different than apparel or home decor work. It’s a lot of precision, careful cuts and patience. Three things I don’t use often when making clothing because every body is different.

BUT every minute of slight frustration and confusion was worth it for my wonderful grandmother in law. ❤️ for her birthday, I made her this matching quilt and pillow set.

I’m still not a fan of making quilts, even though I keep buying fabric for them 😬 so her quilt remains one of a kind. 😉

Day 5 of the 30 day creation challenge!

Christmas gifts!🎄🎁

My first handmade holiday presents were mostly custom embroidered blankets and pillows for my family. My step mother is a HUGE Christmas Vacation fan, so I made her an apron. 🎄 Also new dog beds for the puppies! 🐶

Day 3&4 of the 30 day creation challenge!

Cinderella for Halloween 2017!

This is the most poorly constructed creation I’ve made 😂 in my defense it was made in 4 hours, the night before Halloween, during a power outage. I had the generator hooked up to a couple lights and my sewing machine. It was made with cheap fabric from my stash and some non matching thread. 😬

Day 1 & 2 of the 30 day creation challenge!

I am TERRIBLE at posting photos of my creations. Some times I’m so involved in what I’m doing I forget to take photos at all! 🤦🏼‍♀️

To solve that, I’ll be posting one of my creations each day for the entire month of August. I’ve already missed day 1, so we’re off to a great start here. 😬

Trying to go chronologically, I’ll start with my first sewing project.

Back in August of 2017, I made outfits for Corey, myself and our friends for the King Richards faire.

These were technically my first real sewing projects and they’re not too shabby considering! The seams are fraying (because brocade is awful) and no one has sleeves 😂😂 because sleeves are still one of the hardest things for me to sew. But we had fun and the girls loved their dresses so not a bad beginning.
