We have a little celebrating to do… This month, our studio turns 11 🎈It’s wild. I feel grateful to be working in a city that keeps me endlessly excited about design, and alongside inspiring designers who challenge me to think differently. It’s a hustle, for sure, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Working between New York & New Zealand brings new perspectives to the way I think about design and keeps me experimenting with texture and color. If my designs bring a little joy into this world, I’m a happy soul 🙏🏽

A big reason I feel at home in New York are the people I meet who inspire and leave me in awe. Owen Dippie is one of those people. He is a fellow kiwi and I’ve admired his work ever since I first saw his murals in Aotearoa, New Zealand.

Owen is gifted beyond! I really have no words to describe his talent… other than to say I’m so thankful for his art and artistry. This past weekend, I met him in person while working on his latest mural of Jean-Michel Basquiat.
Mind blowing!!! 🤯
I learned this project is self funded, has taken 2 years to get here, with only a few weeks to finish. If you’re in New York, I highly recommend jumping on the train to Bowery and Great Jones to see this incredible mural take shape watching Owen in action. The location makes this an even more prominent piece of art because it’s just 2 doors from where Basquiat had his studio and lived and worked until he passed away in 1988. Thank you Janette Beckman for introducing us to the Atelier Jolie 🙌🏽

It’s Wool Month! 🐑
Every October, we celebrate this natural, renewable and biodegradable material. I’ve always been a huge advocate for NZ wool, so every opportunity I get to talk about it is another way of giving one of our country’s most valuable natural resources a little leg up 🙏🏽 It’s one of the primary materials we use to make our rugs and blankets, and something I’m genuinely proud to promote through my work.
I’ve had the opportunity to visit several wool farms in Aotearoa and see first-hand how the sheep and farms operate, and how much care goes into looking after them.
I can’t say enough about our country on the other side of the world. We are small in size, but mighty in the wealth that we have… and I don’t mean money wealth. I’m talking about the incredible natural wealth of Aotearoa and what NZ wool represents. For me and my small business, NZ wool is something I’m always happy to invest my time in, promote and believe in. It’s plays a big part of what we do, and I see the results every day through the clients who live with our rugs, carpets and blankets. NZ strong wool is durable, naturally resilient, and has so many benefits as a natural fiber, including its ability to absorb allergens and its natural stain resistance due to its high lanolin content. So here’s to NZ wool. 🇳🇿🐑 🧶

Our client, like us, loves a little bit of retro, so we took inspiration from our designs in the Te Aro Collection and gave them a fresh spin for this space. A little 70’s, a little modern and completely custom 💫
