It’s not wallpaper. It’s wall art.

This is Lilac Hush, Gotham, and Coachman’s Cape; layered by hand by artist Corey Michael ( ) into something that looks like aged plaster, distressed history, and modern drama all at once.

Each color pulled back to reveal the one beneath. Each mark a decision. Each layer a conversation between three tones that were never meant to look like paint.

This is what the wall of JOSEPHINE is made of.

Two continents. One collaboration. One floor.

I collaborated with and used their exclusive Tailor To program to customize the Delano pattern - taking their design as the starting point and making it entirely my own.

Grey Foussana limestone, quarried in Tunisia. Warm grey. Dusky-green undertones. White quartz veining.

Lilac Honed marble, quarried in Turkey. Clean white with plum and violet veining that catches the light like nothing else.

Precision waterjet cut. Hand assembled. Brass inlay placed by hand at the center of every panel.

The Delano pattern - reimagined, and made entirely mine. Installed at Storied NYC for .

This is the floor of JOSEPHINE. Thank you

The lights that make JOSEPHINE breathe.

Josephine Baker was always organic against architecture, fluid against the hard geometry of the Art Deco world that adored her.

These pendants are her movement above my floor.

I chose the Tallulah Jute Basket Rechargeable Pendant by x in Blush and Moss, woven seagrass and jute, sculptural, organic, rechargeable. No hardwiring. Pure intention.

The tension between the hard geometry of the custom Delano tile below and the organic pendants above, that’s the whole story of JOSEPHINE.

Hard and soft. Precise and flowing. Architecture and dance.

The wall of JOSEPHINE was not painted. It was performed.

Artist Corey Michael ( ) showed up to Storied NYC with a ladder, two brushes, a palette knife, and a vision…and turned into fine art.

Lilac Hush. Gotham. Coachman’s Cape. Three colors. Layered by hand. Palette knife at the baseboard. Broad strokes overhead. Every mark intentional. Every layer building on the last.

What you see on that wall is not a paint finish. It is an artwork. It is the backdrop against which JOSEPHINE lives.

And then a pendant cast its shadow across everything he built. And neither of us planned that. JOSEPHINE did.

Meet the artist behind JOSEPHINE’s soul.

This is Ava Limerick — holding her original signed artwork of Josephine Baker on the floor of Storied NYC during installation for .

Charcoal and gold. A woman in motion, in feathers, in power. Gold accents at the wrists and ankles that echo the brass inlay on the custom Delano tile below her feet.

When you walked through JOSEPHINE last night — that is Ava’s work that was watching over the space.

Thank you, Ava, for bringing her here.

Last night, JOSEPHINE made her debut.

Thank you to everyone who came to Design on a Dime 2026 and who walked across that floor, paused, and looked up. That moment was everything I designed it to be.

Thank you to for the Tailor To collaboration and for trusting the Delano pattern to my hands in White Plains.

Thank you to x for the pendants that gave her movement.

Thank you to for the palette that set the stage.

Thank you to for the pieces that grounded her.

Thank you to for the objects that told her story.

Thank you to for the rug that held her feet.

Thank you to for the wall that became an artwork.

Thank you to for bringing Josephine into the room.

The story started with them. It ended with you.

She arrived in Paris in 1925 and stopped the city in its tracks.

Now she arrives again, in charcoal and gold, inside JOSEPHINE.

This is an original signed artwork of Josephine Baker by artist Ava Limerick. Charcoal. Gold accents at the wrists, waist, and ankles — catching the light the way the brass inlay catches it on the floor below. Mid-movement. Feathered. Free.

She is the soul of this vignette made visible.

When I named this space JOSEPHINE, I meant it as a spirit, a force, a legacy, a way of entering a room. Ava Limerick drew her here so you could see exactly what I meant.
