Lightexture

lightexture is a collaboration between an architect and a lighting designer, creating unique designer lamps.

We, Yael Erel and Avner Ben Natan, are a collaborating couple and founders of Lightexture. We work together, as an architect and a lighting designer, to explore light through the construction of unique designer lamps, which adjust through time, and draw light and texture in space. Coming from two different disciplines we explore this field together with different sensibilities and skills. We colla

borate with Ceramic artist Sharan Elran in design, development and construction of our ceramic Claylight™ and Earthlight™ series. In our light construction we incorporate ceramics, ready-made objects, lighting components and constructed elements. The lamps are fitted and assembled by hand in our studio. One of our goals is to create energy efficient fixtures, while maintaining our focus on their atmospheric and spatial performance.

The Vine takes its signature form from the Claylight series: handcrafted ceramic shades that branch from a central brushed brass frame like a living canopy, casting soft, warm light while projecting delicate patterns across your walls and ceiling. The Lightscape Weaver took 1st place in the Art - Bespoke category at the on Thursday 🏆 Thank you to the community for seeing what we see in this work.

At its heart, the Weaver pairs a light source with a specifically crafted reflector mounted on a revolving mirrored disc. As it turns, light beams trace the disc’s surface geometry across the room, conjuring what feels like a three-dimensional structure hovering in space. Swap the reflector and you get an entirely different world of light.

The Weaver is heading to market soon as the first of our Lightscape series. Come find us at May 17-19th at booth 835 to experience it in person.
