For Gianfranco Frattini, simplicity was never simple.
His Kyoto table began far from Italy, its idea taking shape in the workshops of Japan during a formative journey with master cabinetmaker Pierluigi Ghianda.
Ultimately born in 1974, this unique piece is the result of a deep study of wood and its possibilities: a seamless interlocking pattern, where every joint strengthens both structure and meaning. An object reduced to its essence, yet impossible to replicate without such mastery.

Today, Kyoto stands as a manifesto of craftsmanship, part of the permanent collection at Triennale Milano.

Last night in Naples, Poltrona Frau hosted an exclusive event to present the Archibald Delicate Balance Limited Edition, with Shepard Fairey in attendance, bringing his artistic vision directly into dialogue with the brand.

An encounter between design and art, where an icon evolves beyond its form.

During the evening, Poltrona Frau CEO Nicola Coropulis explored the relationship between craftsmanship and visual language, highlighting the connection between the Archibald Delicate Balance armchair and the “Third Eye Open Peace” mural: from an intimate, tactile canvas to a public statement across the walls of Naples.
Fairey’s artistic vision culminates in a shared message of care and peace, extending from the object into the urban space of the city.

In Naples, in the Ponticelli district, Shepard Fairey unveils “Third Eye Open Peace”, a monumental mural where peace becomes an active, shared responsibility. Conceived in dialogue with his exhibition “OBEY: Power to the Peaceful” at Gallerie d’Italia Napoli, the work extends its message into the city, inviting awareness, inner reflection, and collective action.

Poltrona Frau is one of the sponsors of this project, as part of an ongoing dialogue between art, craftsmanship, and civic space. From the Archibald Delicate Balance armchair, born from the collaboration with the artist, to this meaningful transformation of the city’s walls, the project evolves from a design gesture into a collective statement.

The dialogue with Obey Giant continues this evening at the Poltrona Frau store in Naples, with a special event presenting Archibald Delicate Balance Limited Edition to the city.

The mural was promoted and organized by Wunderkammern with the support of Comune di Napoli , Cultura Comune di Napoli and coordinated by INWARD - Osservatorio Nazionale sulla Creatività Urbana .

The Esedra poufs by Monica Förster Design Studio evolve with new proportions and functions, expanding a collection that has embodied Poltrona Frau’s craftsmanship since 2007.

The iconic plissé technique, where soft leather folds radiate from the center, returns as a defining detail, accentuating rounded volumes across different scales. New sizes introduce a more versatile presence: taller versions function as seating, while lower designs complement a more relaxed, informal use within the living space.

In its new storage version, Esedra reveals an additional layer of functionality, transforming into a refined occasional table with a removable tray and concealed compartment.
