Who was David Peel? Produced by John Lennon and Yoko Ono, Peel is probably the best known street musician in the entire world. Playing the streets of New York City, he was discovered twice and you can even say a third time when he became a regular on the Howard Stern Show as a frequent guest, muse and the composer of Howard's theme song "Howard Stern for Governor". David had an amazing career up until after he met with John Lennon who egged him on to make the album The Pope Smokes Dope which got him banned from radio stations all over the world. So David continued for years as New York's most famous street musician. His underground record label launched many great underground artist such as GG Allin and others.
