Mommasbrokesoshepaints Hi my name is Ali and I bring vintage/ antique dressers back to life :) I am a Momma of 7, Grandma of 10, GREAT grandma to one ( and one on the way).

I am a Wifey to Mikey and a follower of Jesus Christ ! I am a " furniture artist " since 2021. Just a Mom, Grandma, Great Granny who LOVES to bring old furniture back to life ! I started painting vintage/ antique furniture when my daddy was in hospice "at home" after a lengthy battle with colon/bladder cancer that eventually took his life ......It was a very difficult time as my Daddy was always m

y " HERO " and he required constant care.....In my rare free time I decided to paint an old dresser to pass the time while he slept.........Daddy slept alot in those final days............ It was not only quite therapeutic but it helped me find " beauty in the ashes " of life ..... It reminded me that life is a never ending cycle of " endings " and " beginnings " and it was okay to let my Daddy go into the arms of Jesus..........It kept me busy and it kept me sane......Each piece that came my way made me realize that beauty could sprout from where ugliness had nestled and there was " new life " for all the furniture that people just cast away.......As I washed down each piece I began to ponder its origin.......how many lives and deaths had it experienced ......had it witnessed the birth of a newborn and held the tiny new born's clothing..........had it held a piece of clothing that was touched by the tears of someone that loved its owner dearly .......did it hold grandpa's cuff links or grandmas pearls ........did it hold old photos that were discarded after someone's passing.......what homes were these pieces of furniture a part of ........was it loved or was it just used ? ............and then I would paint them in the colors that filled my soul............. when I look at each and every piece after completion , my heart smiles at their BEAUTY ..........
Something old becomes something new again..........Just like my daddy when he took his last breath on this Earth and his first in heaven.......My daddy was legally blind for a very long time and when I see the Beauty in my finished projects, I think of how he saw the beauty of heaven when he woke up there ...........and lastly Momma WAS TRULY Broke during that time..........so painting helped a lot in those days..........Today I continue painting in memory of my beloved Daddy ...........
