Buddy’s crate-digging find of the day is this original 1962 stereo pressing of Bent Fabric’s Alley Cat. A masterpiece of easy listening and swing—and fully approved by Bargeboards’ toughest critic.

Pardon our French, but today is National Coq au Vin Day AND , so we’re celebrating the only way we know how—with a little vintage charm and a lot of wine. 🍷🐔
If you aren’t familiar with the classic French dish, the main ingredient is chicken (braised slowly in red wine, of course). And remember the golden rule of cooking with wine: a splash goes into the pot, a splash goes into the chef... it’s the law of the kitchen.
Whether you’re actually braising a bird this weekend or just want your kitchen countertop to look effortlessly très chic, we’ve rounded up the perfect collection of rustic cluckers and tabletop decor.
Claim yours in the comments or come by and see us in the shop at Bargeboard!
🇫🇷 The Friday Flatlay Lineup:

Throwback Thursday: The Royal Roots of the King Cake Tradition ✨
If you’ve ever enjoyed a slice of King Cake here in New Orleans, you’re participating in a beautiful tradition that traces its roots right back to France and exquisite vintage pieces just like these!
The word fève literally translates to “fava bean,” which is what French bakers originally hid inside the Gâteau des Rois (King Cake) to celebrate Epiphany. By the late 19th century, those simple beans evolved into beautiful, highly collectible porcelain and ceramic figurines.
Whoever was lucky enough to find the hidden treasure in their slice was crowned “king” or “queen” for the day—and, according to New Orleans tradition, tasked with hosting the next party or buying the next cake!
🎉 Come Dig for Your Own Perfect Fève!
We are absolutely obsessed with this incredible collection of vintage ceramic fèves straight from France. From saints and royalty to traditional French village characters and animals, each one is a tiny, detailed work of art.
Price: $4 each
Please Note: These beauties sell incredibly fast! Because of high demand, we can’t guarantee these exact figurines will still be in the case when you arrive.
The Fun Part: Half the fun is the hunt! You’ll just have to come by the shop and do a little digging through the collection to find the special one meant for you.
Drop by today and claim your own piece of history!
