We’re still debating on wallpaper designs for the drawer liners, but now that the second coat of primer is almost cured, a light sand before applying Benjamen Moore’s “white dove” in semi gloss finish

I received another order on Monday for one of my clients Craig , on restoring these antique screen doors. Ohhhh babeeee, these things had 5 layers of thick paint🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠Thankfully my step dad bought a handy planer that really made a difference.

PS: Sorry that I’m not posting as much. Im trying to get everything posted and finished in a timely manner. But between a lot of Dr appointments for both my son and I, and everything under the sun; it’s hard to get that decent sunlight and weather to wrap up these jobs.

So look how gorgeous she came out!!

The antique settee was finished last Thursday and went back home, but I was waiting to get the staged photos/videos of it now that she is back home. But these were just a few I took after.

I have NEVER reupholstered anything like this before, but through the years watching millions of videos etc, I was ready to do it! Will post final stages photos once I get them.
But what do y’all think?!! 😍😬🖤🥀

PS:never let anyone underestimate your capability of your artistic self! So many times I had opportunities like this piece to restore and was told that “you don’t know what you are doing!” By someone who should have had the utmost confidence in me. But never let that stop you from pursuing your passion and learning

Today’s work consisted of ALOT of nail tack removal. The 2 decorative pieces on the sides of the back were removed. I needed to sand down the large amount of excess glue and multiple nails that were blown out. Even though the new fabric and batting etc. will cover the previous holes, I prefer to just fill and sand everything. Gives it a nice clean look. Tomorrow consist of priming, paint, and seal before going on to the upholstery process.

Ps:I finally got a phone stand to start videoing, however, it was much too windy today.

I am beyond ecstatic about this client/friends’ piece!!! She’s actually my neighbor back in Prairieville. Although I am back in New Orleans area, she insisted that I bring this piece back to life. Her late mother in law collected this piece at some point and now she wants to bring it back to its original glory. I just received it yesterday and already almost finished stripping everything. The interior is in really great shape, although some of the dovetail drawers were loose, they are all now reinforced. Stay tune for more progress😬😍

Finished in a cream white semi gloss and brass hardware. The cushion has been updated with a thicker and more comfy cushion with a soft neutral linen fabric. Drawers are functional and polished off with a bohemian styled wallpaper.
