It’s time for a ! We are counting down to weekend and are throwing it back to pre-COVID when retained Laissez Faire to produce a high-end experiential activation during Essence Festival Weekend 2019. The Laissez Faire team transformed the first-floor gallery of the Sheraton Hotel into a pop-up luxury spa, salon, store and concert venue all rolled into one.

Do you want to accomplish something, haven’t specified a budget, & need to estimate the cost of your vision? We have you covered! Try this budgeting method:

1️⃣ Identify your necessary expenses - photography, videography, venue, food & beverage, audio/visual, etc.
2️⃣ Identify your CORE components (Creative Opportunities to Reinforce the Experience) & separate them into individual sections within the expense & revenue sections of your budget.
3️⃣ Integrate a safety net with 10% - 15% of your running expenses for additional unexpected expenses that are bound to come up - it’s important to budget for these in advance.

Something to always keep in mind after creating your budget is to regularly visit it. Consider your budget a living & breathing team member, consult with them often, & close them out completely with a final reconciliation. 💸

This Monday we’re celebrating motivation and mentorship.

Being a mentor is an opportunity to become a more competent leader and communicator when helping rising talent. The past couple weeks, Laissez Faire has dropped in to talk with the Turning Tables class to move their youth through the experience of conceptualizing an event, creating cocktails that strengthen the theme, organization branding, and sponsor relations.

At this past Saturday’s Cocktails and Conversations, Turning Tables youth, James and Zen, handled bar service and learned from a panel of event planning experts. We engaged in a candid conversation of how to navigate the constantly changing challenges of the pandemic.

Some of the biggest takeaways were the importance of flexibility, adaptability, and grace for yourself and others.
