Last week I was going through my Dad’s beautiful funeral flowers, trying to salvage what I could. I wanted to share some of the best unexpected advice I got last week on grief because let’s face it, it sure is WEIRD. I didn’t expect to be crying in Best Buy for the first time that day, but God led me there to hear a message I needed to hear. “When you’re at the end of your rope, you just gotta tie a knot and hold ON.” That’s what I feel like I’m doing. One minute at a time, literally. This year I’ve been “spiritually challenged” in big ways all across the board and I believe I was being prepared for this unbearable, unexpected heartbreak. This is your reminder to PRAY. We often forget or only do it in times of trouble. Even if you don’t believe, or may be unsure on what you’ve been taught. A simple simple prayer “God please help me” does wonders … and it cannot hurt you “if you think it won’t work”. He is always there but He is waiting for you to ASK for His help and lean on Him. I wake up every morning lately and ask God to guide me. It’s been much easier than trying to figure things out on my own.
I believe in this business it’s so important to lean on God, especially for my clients. The work the family has to do before an Estate Sale company comes in and takes over is so difficult. This is such a tough job for a lot of reasons on all sides, and grief can make things intensified and confusing and prolonged. I will be approaching each future client with even more care and compassion than I ever did before. My customers also will get prayed over before they enter each home and the items that are sold each day we are open. We need God now more than ever. I’m begging you to reconsider your relationship with God if you haven’t spoken to him in a while. He will never let you down if you just … listen. 🦋
