Incorporating some finds from Color Drive weekend into my decor. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Kozy Kats and The Hen House. Beautiful atmosphere and wonderful vendors in Summer Hill! What was your favorite part of the weekend? Did you find anything fabulous?

Chad and I had to make a quick trip to Bowling Green today, and we came across the cutest little shop on the square called Spencer Creek. When you first walk in, there are beautiful prints all over the walls (including Billy Jacobs), candles, beautiful furniture pieces, and it smells wonderful!! The lovely owner allowed me to take pictures of a couple of my favorite furniture pieces while I was there to share with you. Oh, did I forget to mention...the furniture is all handmade by the husband and wife owners! Yes, they make custom furniture; yes, it's gorgeous; and yes, it's affordable!! I was totally blown away and had to share with you all!

Please please please, show the Spencer Creek family some love – like their page, share it with your friends, and go visit them in Bowling Green, MO! There is so much pretty things there, you won't be disappointed. Love small business owners and artisans!!

How about chalk painted pumpkins? Then you can choose your own color scheme!

Here is the vanity I was telling you about! The pink is a custom mixed color, and I think it's so cute! I used a new distressing technique on this piece that I really loved. What do you think?

My homemade coffee candle smells so good right now!!! I used the wax from some candles with a scent I didn't really care for, melted it in a double boiler, added some yummy scents, added wicks, repoured, and then just let it set up...voila!!!

Here are a few more details on the upcoming workshop. I am planning on holding it in Pittsfield. Still a few details to work out on the location so I can't give you an exact date yet, but I am tentatively planning for the evenings of October 1 & 2 (probably 2 hours each night). I am giving fans of my page the first chance at joining me for the workshop! I will open it up later to others in the community. Don't miss out - this will be fun!

It's been awhile since I've had anything worthwhile to share, but I am excited to share this with you now! Chad and I picked up this awesome antique store counter from Kozy Katz today. If you haven't been there before, you must stop by. Renee is amazing and always has something that catches my eye. If you're a crafter, she has unique little tidbits for you (doorknobs, skeleton keys, shutters, metal bedsprings, etc), or if you're looking for bigger items, she has plenty of those, too. There are some nesting boxes in there I would love to find a place for! GO, GO, GO! You won't be disappointed. The store counter we picked up is a beast!! It's all wood with beautiful dovetailed drawers. There was a ton of paint covering the drawers so we stripped all that off when we got it home and sanded each drawer. We have removed the metal placards from the drawers but plan on replacing them at some point in the near future. The top was in pretty bad shape. It looks like it was original, but there was a chunk missing out of the back, someone used a skill saw on the front of it (shaving off about a quarter inch), and there were holes from a drill all over. I was running several ideas through my head but finally decided on an old door that we have been saving but didn't have a use for yet. Turns out it fits PERFECTLY! I am planning on painting this piece so this is only stage one of the rehab, but I am definitely happy with the way it's going so far! Let me know what you think!
