Would’ve never imagined saying this when I bought it, but thank god for my DEWALT battery powered chainsaw…😂
Brand new gas Husqvarna chainsaw failed after 2-3 days cleaning up and making the first few cuts out of this 40” base Beech tree…had my battery Dewalt chainsaw already(becoming my only option to finish this project) and after a couple weeks of heavy use, and pushing it with an 18” bar(Originally 14” Max), she’s still running strong and allowed me to finish the biggest base section of this 200+ year old tree plus much more. Didn’t come without a good amount of extra time, effort and recharged batteries for a big project, but a lifesaver nonetheless🤙🏼
Figured a proper shoutout was in order after all of this..😆👌🏼

BillyBoy has some FRESH CUTS for y'all...!🤙
These slabs from the 'Big Old Beech' tree are by far the most unique, large slabs I've milled up.
The positioning of the large hollowed out Burl section on the Sawmill took a good amount of time and effort, but ultimately my vision of the unique wood slabs that it could produce had come to fruition🙌
Next step for these guys will be a period of time to Air Dry, then will be Kiln-Dried once they reach a more appropriate moisture content to do so.

**Slabs are up to 36” in diameter and around 8ft. in length**

Enjoy some sawmill ASMR..🤙😌

Here's an incredible hollowed-out burl section(Diameter of 36"+) of a 200+ year-old Beech tree that fell victim to the recent Nashville ice storm.
Didn't come without some blood, sweat and bent steel, but extremely happy to have been able to salvage this 'Big old Beech' for myself and others to enjoy and make use of the beautifully rare characteristics of the lumber and slabs that will be produced from it👌
Results to be posted very soon

Current project | Big old-growth Beech tree, 35"+ in diameter..🤌🏼 Worked to help clear this hard-hit section of road after the recent Nashville snow/ice storm(including this Beech across the road) and returned to salvage and put this wood to great use!
Working to get these sections milled up, I'll be back with the results🤞🏼
