Woman with a Past

Woman with a Past Woman with a Past - Purveyor of antiques, vintage, shabby, jewelry and nostalgia. We all have a past – filled with good, bad, and some things in between.

Woman with a Past is a tribute to the beautifully detailed work of those long gone. It’s a nod, if you will, to a simpler time when people baked a cake for a new neighbor, gather around the dinner table in the evening, listened to dramas on the radio, wrote letters, and read real books. In this throw-away generation of plastics, laminates and mass-produced products, it’s refreshing to look at the

beautifully detailed work of those long gone and remember how hard they worked to buy a piece of furniture, hand stitch a beautiful quilt or make a beautiful dress that would be worthy of handing down throughout the generations. Hopefully, this page will help you cherish those good memories and remind you that "you are fearfully and wonderfully made" to lead a beautifully detailed life, carved by the Master himself that will serve as a lasting legacy to your family, friends and those who may only meet you on Facebook.

“May the dreams of your past be the reality of your future.”

I have so many fond memories of school. I remember one of the first board games my father taught me was Checkers. After I got the swing of Checkers, he taught me Chinese Checkers. It's still one of my favorite games. This looks exactly like the old metal board I use to have. I love the stragety of board games. Somtimes I think kids today miss out on so many of the simple pleasures of life. anyway, image via Etsy.

This may be a regional thing, but when I was in Jr. High we had SLAM BOOKS, notebooks with a numbered sign-in sheet. People would select a number, answer various questions like "What's your favorite band," or "Who do you think is the cutest boy," etc. Talk about fun! Just don't get caught signing one in class. LOL!!! Did any of you have Slam Books in school? Like I said it may be a regional thing.
