As I walk the farm, I see, hear, and feel the beauty of the flowers around me. There is a quiet hum in the rows, a rhythm that shifts with the light, the weather, and the season. I am deeply moved by this beauty, and macro photography has become a way for me to slow down and truly witness it.

Flowers, especially fresh cut flowers, are fleeting by nature. Their beauty arrives, peaks, and fades — sometimes within days. Through macro photography, I can capture what might otherwise go unnoticed: the delicate folds of a petal, the texture of pollen, the way light settles into the center of a bloom. These images become a form of documentation, preserving a moment in time while honoring the flower’s life cycle.

As I spent time revisiting the full collection, I found myself continually drawn back to a handful of favorite captures — the ones that still feel alive, the ones that hold the light just a little longer. From those images, I printed a small batch and created handmade greeting cards.

This Women’s History Month, I’m reflecting on the women who have lived, worked, loved, and shaped this place. The quiet responsibility of tending it well.

I stepped into the archives to learn the history of the land my family calls home.

In the late 1800s, Ida Adaline Sawyer Knighten (1858–1949) held title here, her name preserved in aging deed records. Through research at the Stillaguamish Valley Pioneer Museum, I was able to trace the story of this land back to 1858.

Nearly a century later, my family built our log home here and moved in during 1986. My younger sister and I grew up running the property, and my mother cared for this land during those early years.

I left when I married, but in 2004 my husband and I returned to raise our children here. In 2016, we renewed our wedding vows on this very property. Today, our daughter Haven still calls this place home.

Before any of our names were written in record books, this land along the Stillaguamish River was and remains the ancestral homeland of the Stillaguamish people, whose stewardship stretches back generations beyond recorded history.

It’s a story layered with resilience for generations.

What we plant today, in soil, in memory, in love becomes the inheritance of tomorrow.

If you’re local, consider spending time in the archives at the Stillaguamish Valley Pioneer Museum. You might discover the stories waiting beneath your own feet.

There are seasons for expanding… and there are seasons for refining

As I look ahead to 2026, I’ve made a thoughtful update to the Flourish website; including our FLOWERS page. This shift didn’t happen overnight. It’s been shaped by reflection, clarity and a desire for a healthier rhythm for both farm and family.

It feels intentional. It feels grounded. And it feels right for this season.

If you’d like to read more about what’s changing (and what’s staying the same), the full blog post is live on our website.

Thank you for growing with me, supporting small farms, and giving me the space to Flourish.

Stay tuned for 2026 pop-up announcements.

Meanwhile, keep Flourishing 🌿

2025 was full for presence, patience, and partnership.

There’s something beautiful about life returning home to itself.
When our flower farm first began, Casey lived here, part tenant, part friend to all of us, part quiet encouragement in those early, learning seasons.

Years later, she returned to the farm not to live, but to love.
She met the man who felt like home, and asked me to grow the blooms that would frame the start of their forever.
In every bucket of blooms that I gathered, a little of this place went with her. The energy of the farm in each stem, the intention tucked into every seedling, the commitment in every early morning, and the quiet hope for their future woven into the harvest.

Her order was beautifully rounded out by fellow flower farmers from
A team effort rooted in seasonal abundance. I respect couples who value what’s growing in our valley.

She chose the À La Carte route, gathering bloom buckets in the richest fall tones… and somewhere between the harvesting and the arranging, I realized this palette might be my new favorite.

Here’s to full circle stories, intentional blooms, and the sweetest new Mr. & Mrs.
Cheers to the bride and groom. 🌾🧡🥂
