The Wisconsin State Fair Honey Show offers an opportunity to showcase your hive products, learn from the judging process, and build your skills in preparing entries.

With a heavy heart, the WHPA announces the sudden loss of its Southwestern District Chair, Don King who passed away suddenly last week. Please keep Don's wife Jean and their family in your prayers during this difficult time.

🍯 Help Wisconsin shine at the American Honey Bar!

Wisconsin contributed more honey samples than any other state to last year’s American Honey Bar. Let’s showcase our honey again at the ABF Conference in Galveston this January!

Wisconsin State Delegates Tracy Malterer and Stephanie Slater are collecting samples, especially distinctive varietals such as black locust, cranberry, basswood, and buckwheat. You do not need to attend the conference to participate.

To contribute, bring one labeled, 1/2-pound (8-ounce) jar of Wisconsin honey to the WHPA Fall Convention in November. Identify the varietal on the jar if you can, and give it to Tracy or Stephanie. Stephanie will transport the samples to Galveston.

Each state may submit up to 15 samples. If we receive more than 15 jars, we’ll prioritize distinctive varietals to show the range of Wisconsin honey.

Can’t attend the convention? Contact Stephanie Slater to coordinate pickup. Let’s give beekeepers from across the country a taste of Wisconsin! 🐝

🐝 A young person’s curiosity today could become a lifelong passion for beekeeping!

The 2027 WHPA Youth Beekeeper Scholarship Program gives youth hands-on opportunities to learn about honey bees, care for a colony, and develop responsibility and practical skills along the way.

Know a young person who enjoys nature, agriculture, or learning something new? Encourage them to explore the program and apply!
