I just wanted to thank everyone that came to the Girl Scout award and bridging ceremony's do family fun day. It was a beautiful day, the weather was good and The company wonderful. We had a little problem with people going to scoutshire woods instead of camp Sid. I sent directions out, knowing that our camp sites are not on Google or MapQuest. At least that's what I thought. I do understand that people did put in it and it sent them to Scoutshire woods. I'm so sorry about that confusion. The only thing I can think of was it was because that property is owned by the school board. But everyone did make it to camp safely. For those that had to leave a little early the Kona Shaved Ice truck did show up. She didn't get lost but she did get on Schillinger's Road, which if anyone has traveled it knows that there's construction going on and It delayed her greatly. Those that were still there did enjoy a nice cool treat right there at the end of the day. She will be at daycamp in the botanical gardens for all that will be going to daycamp. Thank you to Sarah and Cheri and their GSs and also all of their parents that helped get things together. The girls did a fantastic job decorating the bridge with what nature had to give. Everyone enjoyed playing the carnival games. Thank you to Amber Tate and Will Case for handling the archery area. Thank you to Becky Tate and Michele Johnson, who handled the boats. Both of these areas are always a favorite with everyone. We are pleased to announce that we only had one casualty. Many of the families thanked me for the event and appreciated being able to see the camp and enjoy what it has to offer. Thank you to some of the Boy Scouts that came up and helped run some of the carnival games. Thank to Kiana for being there in her beautiful Azalea Trail Maid dress. We had two graduating seniors that bridged to adults. Their plans are to continue to be involved in Girl Scouts, so I do see if a couple of future leaders.
Leaders, please let your parents that came know much we enjoyed having them. And thank them for allowing their daughters to be in Girl Scouts. And last but most important, I appreciate all of the leaders of these troops. If it was not for the women and (their husbands let them) we would not have these girls involved with scouts. Thank you! Thank you!
Thanks,
Sue
