Do you see the hungry piggies (😻) eating their breakfast??Its been a busy summer!! We’ve moved homes, taken on new offices as plant clients, and honed in on who our target client truly is. Lemme tell ya, this entrepreneur stuff is way more work than it seems at a glance! But very rewarding work as well. Still getting all the plants situated in the new place, there are way more plants than there are spaces available already 😂

You’re skipping a huge step if you aren’t breaking up the root ball before re-potting!!

This Pothos was very rootbound in its snug little pot from the nursery. Sometimes they don’t wanna let go but it’s for their own good 😂

—Breaking up the root ball is how you tell the plant “it’s ok, you have space now, you’ve got fresh soil, get to growing!”

Some plants though (Majesty Palms for example) *like* being root bound, so know your plants and their needs before planting. Especially when creating living arrangements. Cluster plants together based off care requirements and not just looks and you’ll have a much happier, healthier arrangement. 🙂

“The probability of you existing at all comes out to 1 in 102,685,000— yes, that's a 10 followed by 2,685,000 zeroes!” -Dr Ali Binazir. And that’s just genetically, before you account for life experiences and choices that shape you into who you are. As a botanist, think of how boring the hobby would be if every plant looked the same, had the same needs, etc. Nobody would be in this hobby! There is not and never will be another you. “The odds of you being alive are basically zero”. We’re here to be different because we all ARE different. And it IS beautiful. So be you whatever that looks like! Sometimes it can hard, but you’re doing amazing and I believe in you. :)I received this great reminder from a friend as a gift when she was doing some water color paintings, check her out! . It really is mind blowing to think that you truly could live 100 lifetimes and never meet another you.

We had an ABSOLUTE BLAST at our first guided workshop to teach everyone how to mount staghorn ferns!! Thanks so much to everyone who came out and had a great time, I’m so glad you had as much fun as I did and it was so awesome to meet you guys!! If you’re in the Nashville area and are interested in joining our plant group for local meet ups, plant swaps and workshops, comment or DM me and I’ll send you the link to our Facebook group—the group is growing and I’m so excited! 😛🙏🏼💚HUGE shout out to Calvin of who is the most generous hearted plant friend I know and drove out to provide the beautiful ferns and added his wealth of plant knowledge and experience to help us make this workshop happen!
