So we got back from a trip to Disney World a week ago today, and I just now feel like I'm recovered! We had a blast!

From a professional standpoint, I enjoyed feeling the differences in architecture and decor between the different areas of the parks. Tomorrowland had a very different feel from Adventureland! It had me thinking about some of my favorite furniture styles and what sets them apart. I'm a sucker for the Shaker style for being so raw and elegant, but I also love mid-century modern for its blend of simplicity and complexity.

My morning usually starts off with setting up my tools for milling the lumber I’ll need for the day. Then I move on to joinery, then sanding, then more sanding, then stain and finish. And, when I’m my best self, I finish the day cleaning up the shop and vacuuming the dust that my dust collector missed. Not a bad life!

I am so proud of how this kitchen table and bench turned out! It was handmade out of rough-sawn Tennessee maple. Can you see where we were able to leave in some of the saw marks from the sawmill? I love getting to leave little features like that! I feel like they make this table look like it is 100 years old already!
