Our History
Mobile Sound Reinforcement was founded in 1992 by J. Nick Ellis who serves as the company’s owner, president, and A1 chief audio engineer. MSR has extensive experience with corporate events, weddings, theater audio, and music concerts of all types. We have experience with a wide array of functions from the small intimate concerts to large scale events like Time Warner/AOL’s corporate parties, Zydeco dance festivals, Governors’ weddings, Winter Holiday company celebrations, Outdoor summer concert series, and much more. We have worked with the likes of Natalie Cole, Leann Womack, Governor Robert Erlich, Senator Jay Rockefeller, The Baltimore Ravens, Governor Martin O’Malley. The Temptations, NBC’s Today Show, WMAR Channel 2. We pride ourselves with getting an authentic sound from the groups we work with. J. Nick Ellis has advanced degrees in music and acoustics and knows what ensembles should sound like regardless of genre and type of venue. Currently, the company provides audio services and consulting for Howard County Recreation and Parks, and the The Inner Arbor Trust, who manages the Chrysalis Amphitheater at Merriweather Park in Columbia, Md.
