Fall is coming soon! For most people, including us, this means slowing down, garden getting but to bed, HS football season coming to an end(in October), being home and present more, spending time working on hobbies.
This fall I have a dream list of tasks to do, hobbies to do, books to read, and more. Seems like a lot when I type this out but to me it’s more of being still and present! Ive struggled this spring and summer feeling overwhelmed and not being as present for those I love. Season change is a time I like to reflect and make small change to that.
With that said what is a hobby or skill you plan on working on as we move into fall?

Flashback to our homeschool days…
I sometimes miss those days, however we all love having our own space and time apart. My kids love having their own friends, they are both very social and missed friends so much when we homeschooled for a year.
My son does miss doing class work with a chicken near by, he makes up for it once he gets home. He still loves his birds!

My 8x4 bed is bursting with peppers! Literally so many!
After processing some and eating some I thought to weigh them.. still had over 10 pounds! I’m feeling very proud of my peppers this year.
I great them in 100% goat and rabbit manure. This garden box hasn’t been planted in a few years so I covered the whole box in cardboard and added a few dump wagons of manure. It’s doing amazing!
Jalapeño, big sweet, Bells, small sweet (we call lunchbox) pableno, and grande poblano.

South Haven is on my list of “happy places” this summer we struggled to get there. Between all 4 of us and our crazy schedules it was damn near impossible! Yesterday we scratched everything and did a family day! It was just what we needed to close out summer. Onewheels were out, sun was out-off to South Haven we went! We did some window shopping, walked the beach and pier, hit one of our favorite farms for some yummy produce, had dinner, and played at a park.
My son will take the penalty lap for missing football practice, but it was a holiday and we wanted to enjoy family time. It’s all good! Running is good for him! ❤️

Over the weekend we introduced Cinnamon and North back into the herd. It was only going to be for a few hours while the munched on nature out in the woods. How do you tell this happy girl she has to go back into confinement for another 5 days?
Cinnamon looks so much better and seemed to love the reunion.
North and Willow spent several hours hashing out herd Queen. North did eventually let Willow keep her title.
Everyone fell right back into their order and the barnyard is once again in harmony. Soon we will have a new man on the block and the ladies will be over the moon excited to welcome him. A few of them were in heat last week and made sure to let me know it was time to bring him home!

Baby barn is always changing. Depending on the season you may find baby chicks, ducks, or goats in here.
Baby birds are born in the house and usually move to the baby barn about 2 weeks old. They stay in here until they are old enough to join the flock.
Baby goats are born in the baby barn, move into the house where they stay until we are done with middle of the night bottles then they move back out to the baby barn until big enough to join the herd.
Currently with this shift I am happy to report I have no baby birds in my house, nor do I have eggs in the incubator! We are good to go until Feb/March kidding season starts.

Last night while canning I got to thinking…
When canning if you have empty space are you of the camp of letting it ride and see what happens next or do you can jars of water?
If you can jars of water do you shelf them. Or do you dump them and refill them?

We unfortunately will not be set up tonight at First Friday. Life has been too busy, my cup is overflowing! If you are looking for something you are free to get ahold of me through here or text me if you have my number.
I’m gearing up to make October a better inventory. Currently I do have soap available.
