Daff is being such a good mommy to her babies! She tries to share them with me, they seem less impressed than I am. I was very torn about letting her try and she’s making it look easy! As many of you know I am having another surgery on my arm in a very short time and will be without the use of my right arm for several weeks. Letting North and Daffodil raise their kids was not a decision I made lightly, I really struggled! I have always raised bottle babies and this year has been a year of not going as I planned! I do not plan for May kids, I always have Feb-March and occasionally early April. My girls are doing amazing! I’m sad that the babies don’t run to me and I have to catch them for snuggles, but it’s just one year. Next year we will be bottle raising again!!

It’s totally normal to see a neighbor walking down the road and they say to you “milking time?!” And you reply to them “look at this girls udder” while turning said goat in a circle right?

I’m often asked a few questions about my goat milk soap…
1. What is the difference between your soap and soap in a big box store?
My soap is made in my home kitchen after milking my very own goats.
2 what chemicals do you use?
I use coconut oil, olive oil, sunflower oil, lye, essential oils, and sometimes mica powder and dried herbs from my garden.
3. Do you use dyes or fragrance oils?
No dyes ever! Mica powder is what I use for coloring. I do not use any synthetic fragrance oils, I do not like the idea of using them personally. I will make a batch upon request, but I don’t stock them regularly.
4. Will you tell me your exact recipe?
No I’m sorry I keep that deep inside, I’ve worked very hard to create my own measurements. However there are plenty of recipes available for free online and soapcalc.com to figure out the best recipes for what you are looking for.
5 hat is your favorite goat milk soap?
Lavender sage is my favorite, and my top seller. I do like different essential oils for different reasons, but really like those 2 oils together.

The older set of twins were born 5-12, the younger set was born 5/25. They have found all the fun things to play on in the barnyard. Let the fun begin ❤️

Yesterday Midnight worked tirelessly building the perfect nest, only to eat the entire nest and pull all her hair all over the wire! When my daughter did afternoon chores she found kits everywhere, including the barn floor! She was able to save 4 and tuck them away nicely in the nesting box. This morning they all look fat and fed. Hopefully she figures this out! We recently moved her from a friends barn where she couldn’t get her mother’s instinct to kick in and killed too many litters. We will try here Othwrwise she will be culled. We don’t have space for bad mothers in the rabbit barn!
We often allow 3 strikes and you’re out.
If these 4 kits make it to wean they will be joining 4h kids at the local fair as 4h market rabbits.

So thankful my shirt doubled as a basket because I NEVER remember something to carry them all back inside with me. Sometimes I use feed scoop, this haul was more than a feed scoop and pockets!

I have extremely bad allergies and usually shy away from anything floral. When I have requests for floral scented soaps I do it but absolutely have to have windows open and fans on. Just the smell of the essential oils can trigger migraines! This batch of rose goat milk soap was no different, or so I thought. Somehow the sweetness of the beets didn’t bother my allergies. Maybe this is a game changer for me! I can’t wait until it cures and I can pass this batch out to a few lucky people to test! I have a couple people in mind that always reach for my rose or rose/jasmine bars.
I also love the flecks of beets mixed in.
Tell me what you think!
