Whenever an order comes in, I like to drop what I’m doing and try to get it shipped out the same day! It’s like my fun little challenge and a way to treat each customer like a VIP 🌟

12 years ago, when I took these photos, I was building one of my very first River Tables. My two little girls would wander out to the shop in their pajamas to see what Dad was working on.
At the time, my shop was a single-car garage behind the little house we rented. It had four electrical outlets, one overhead light, and no windows. No heat either. Most mornings, regardless of the season, I would roll open the garage door at the beginning of the day and close it at night. It was cramped, cold, and required a lot of adaptability, but I was deeply thankful for that humble place to create.
Back then, we barely had enough money to stay above water. On paper, we were poor, but in reality our lives felt incredibly rich.
This little girl on the left just graduated high school, and somehow these photos feel a lot more emotional than they did when I first took them. 🥹

Here's a look at a slab dining table I made for a customer in Tennessee. They made my work a theme in their home. In addition to this mega dining table, they have a coffee table, a desk and you can even get a glimpse of my work in their kitchen cabinets 👀

I had an unusual experience today...I was searching for something on Facebook Marketplace and came across a table for sale and thought "that looks familiar" 👀 The proportions, the feel of the design, seen just for a moment while scrolling, felt like it was one of mine. AND SURE ENOUGH IT WAS! My customer is moving to a smaller office and he's forced to sell it. The conference table is quite big - 5.5'x10' and it even has its own short film you can watch, filmed in the field where the log was milled.
