🌟 Hey everyone! It’s been a while since I last posted, but I’m back in the shop and excited to share what I’ve been working on. I recently completed a chest restoration that turned out beautifully, and now I’m diving into a new cabinet project. Cabinets are a new challenge, and I have a lot of tricks to learn along the way. I still need to build the drawer boxes and shelves, prime and paint everything, and install hinges and drawer slides before I can assemble it all. It’s a big task, but I’m looking forward to it!

I’m also still navigating the business side of woodworking, learning as I go. Thank you all for your support! Stay tuned for updates on my cabinet and some insights into my journey. Would love to hear your thoughts and tips! πŸ› οΈ

Just put the final touches on my walnut table base! Had a little mishap with some through tenons I was teying to do. Turned out to be a happy accident. πŸ™ƒ I used Rubio Monocoat for the finishβ€”super easy to apply, which is perfect for someone like me who’s not exactly a pro at finishing. The result is a smooth, rich look that really brings out the beauty of the walnut. πŸ› οΈβœ¨

Another milestone in my walnut river table project! Just finished crafting the base. To make the legs, I had to build a taper jig for my table saw – it worked like a charm! πŸ”¨ Check out the rough assembly with clamps in the pics below. Still a lot of work to do but it's coming along!

Finally built my first crosscut sled out of some scap I had. I used the five cut method to get it accurate to within .004 of an inch! Say goodbye to inaccurate cuts on the miter saw.

Feeling accomplished as I blew the dust off this epoxy river table project i started last year! 😊 I poured the epoxy and had zero leaks thanks to a solid mold. Just broke it out of the mold and flattened it with my router. Now diving into the sanding process! Started sanding at 80 grit on the right-hand side. Can't wait to see this beauty come to life! πŸ’ͺ

πŸšͺ Just finished installing this sliding barn door today! πŸ› οΈ It was an absolute pleasure working on this project from start to finish. I'm so grateful that my measurements were spot on! πŸ™ I was so nervous leading up to the installation. 😬 Despite the limited space and the quirks of an older building, the rollers sit just about 1/4 of an inch from the ceiling; they actually skimmed the ceiling as I was setting it on the rail. πŸ’ͺ 🏑✨

It's not the box πŸ“¦ I wanted to make, but despite a few challenges, it still turned out ok. πŸ‘ I can understand why some craftsman are dedicated to making boxes. In order to make a perfectly square box, you have to make perfectly straight cuts. In order to make perfectly straight cut you have to have a perfectly flat and square board. It seemed so simple when I started! πŸ˜„ Will definitely be giving this another go. For now, this one found it's home on my wife's dresser. ❀️
