Some summers don’t end.
They stay with you.
In the places.
In the people.
In the things you wish you could say one more time.
“He has built an entire novel about the necessity of remembering the dead, only to reveal that the act of remembering is what brings the dead back to life.”
We spent that summer clearing graves, restoring a house, and reading the life of a girl who had been gone for nearly a hundred years.
We didn’t know we were learning how to carry someone we were about to lose.
And in the end.
“He has given his brother a place to live forever.”
Locust Bayou Legends: Book Three is now live.
