AND HOW TO PROLONG THEIR LIFESPAN 👇🏻

The service life of the drill bits will be long if they are used, disinfected, and sterilized properly.

Here are some tips from Staleks Pro:

✔ The bit’s lifespan is very approximate and depends on the way it used.

✔ If you feel that you start applying more pressure on the bit and it slides over the skin or the nail, it may be the sign that you need to replace it.

✔ Diamond bits should be replaced ~every 15-20 clients or on the situation.

✔ Do not forget to clean the working zone of a bit while working. Clogged abrasive can lead to the nail surface heating up.

✔Rinse and dry the bit properly after disinfection prior sterilization.

✔Check out the disinfectant concentration and exposure time. Ignoring the instructions can lead to corrosion of the bits.

Our recommendations ⤵️

This is one of top-5 questions to us about tools. How to understand if a tool needs a refresh or it works excellent? Let’s sort it out.

👍 Below, we give a lifehack on how you can check if your tool requires sharpening or not.

1️⃣ Regular depreciation

Despite the fact that Staleks tools made of high-quality stainless steel, a regular depreciation doesn’t pass them by.
If you use a tool every workday, we recommend resharpening:
🔹 For Smart tools - every 3-4 months.
🔹 For Expert - every 5-6 months.
🔹 For Exclusive - every 6+months.

These frames are approximate and a nail tech should make this decision based on his own case after testing his tools.

2️⃣ Accident

In 9 of 10 cases, a dropped tool requires a service. Their blades — especially scissors — are super thin and can be easily damaged.

Moreover, we know cases when Exclusive scissors dropped on a tiled floor blades down and remained sharp, or another case when a plastic sterilization pouch had melt over the tools in a hot heat cabinet, and they lost their quality.

Tools after an accident can be saved by a professional sharpener.

3️⃣ Improper use

For example, we don’t recommend using cuticle nippers for shortening the nails;

Performing of professional services using the Classic series, that is designed for self-care, is not recommended as well.

Follow recommendations of the manufacturer to prolong the tool’s life-span.

✅ To check if your cutting tools require sharpening or not, try to cut a plastic wrap. Blades should easily split the wrap on weight, when it’s not strained. If the blades pull the wrap, the tool should be sent for a service.
