The other night, Mana was throwing something around outside so big in comparison to his usual gecko or small bug.
By pure size in the dark, I thought it must have been a mouse. Come to find out it was-
A coconut rhinorosours beetle!
An invasive insect, and in the decade that I have lived here I've never seen nor even heard of one. I had to look it up and found out there are only a few and I mean less than a handful that have been found on Kauai, and therefore how to properly dispose of it.
Of course, because this was so rare and massive, I had to look up the spiritual meaning. Sure enough, it aligned with what I've been feeling; protection along with the big shift and the ripple effects that will come thereafter.
Spiritual Meaning of
Finding a coconut rhino beetle on your porch/lanai-
Transformation and Renewal
Coconut rhinoceros beetles, like many beetles, are associated with transformation because they undergo complete metamorphosis—from larva to adult. Seeing one in its final moments may symbolize that something in your life is ending, making space for a new phase or chapter. The death of the beetle can be a mirror of letting go of old patterns, habits, or situations.
Protection and Strength
These beetles are very strong for their size—they can lift heavy loads and break through coconuts. Spiritually, this strength can symbolize resilience. The presence of a dying beetle might indicate that you or someone around you has been carrying a burden, and it’s a reminder to release what no longer serves you, even if it feels difficult.
