A friend ask for some log suet feeders for Christmas, so I decided it would be more decorative to turn the ends. These have been very fun to make. And when filled with bark butter, the birds loved them.

I have finally been able to spend a little time In the Woodshop. It is very sad without Bryan but I know he would be very disappointed in me if I gave it up. It has actually been very healing and I can still feel his presence.
Theses bottle stoppers will be headed to the gift shop of Seven Winds Kitchen in Logan Alabama very soon

With a heavy heart, I’m sad to post that master woodworker, Bryan McFee has passed on to the Lord. Our hearts and prayers are with Carol McWhorter McFee. Bryan’s legacy continues in every piece of wood art he created. We will forever treasure his bowl that adorns our kitchen. You are welcome to add photos of Bryan’s work.

Carol Mae will continue with her ice cream scoops, bottle openers, bottle stoppers, bud vases and miscellaneous items.

I have been very busy lately with engineering work. After all it pays the bills. I have hardly been in the shop for the last month. But I have managed to finish one bowl during this time. You may remember a post that I made earlier. Mae and I went to the Baty farm with Ryan Baty to look for some wood. We found a maple that had died and was lying in a dried up creek bed. It was pretty far gone. But there was some interesting looking wood in it. We salvaged it with a tractor. Ryan's father was shocked that this was what I wanted. I completed the first bowl from this unloved maple tree. It had a bark inclusion that spanned the entire bowl from the bottom up,through the side wall. I left it thick walled because of the crack. Then I filled the side wall with ground up Chrysocola and glue to bond it and create a pretty effect. I gave this bowl to Ryan today as a way of saying thanks. Here are pics of the savage and the finished product.
