As many of you may have noticed, the Brutus Builds profile picture has been updated and contains the pink ribbon. As of January, our family changed. My amazing, beautiful, and talented wife was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 35. It has been a hectic and frightening road since then. However, she is without a doubt the toughest person I have ever met. She inspires me to be a better person and is an amazing role model for our children. I say all this, not for sympathy, but to maybe provide a little motivation for those of you that have been putting off getting checked or those of you that have perhaps found something suspicious within yourselves. My wife has had a bilateral mastectomy and is weighing options for further treatment at this time. However, through this process she has been trying to spread the word for others so that perhaps early detection will possibly help save others from more heartache. So, watching her display unselfishness, determination, and inspiration has made me question what more I could do. At this moment in time, though simple, I figured the best way may be to shift the focus of Brutus Builds for a while. We will be searching for ways to contribute to the research to fight cancer. We are also in a state of being for the next couple of months, that turn around times may be a little quicker. Also, I’m excited for my wife to began making some farmhouse signs/ other rustic décor as well. So be on the lookout for her creations. As previously stated, she is amazing. But, in the meantime we just want to make as many people as possible for us aware that a diagnosis can happen to anyone. Any age, gender, race, etc. Anyone. So please, please, please, be proactive and question things that may seem insignificant. And, if yall need anything, (of course a table, etc.) or want to share a story, or just someone to listen to you and possible things that yall may be going through, please let us know.
