As many of you know, Lori and I are planning to relocate to Montana as soon as our place sells.
In the meantime, we are staying in California until we sell.
With that being said, I am available for jobs, big and small. I will remain very transparent about our relocation process but will not start a job without finishing it.
If there is any projects you are planning or thinking about, and would be interested in me looking at, reach out to me on FB or call and leave a message in my office(559-562-4230). Please make sure you leave a phone number so I can return the calls.

Did a little one man framing job for a few days this week for a customer I’ve known since he was a toddler. Utilizing an old pole barn for family car/truck projects.
I’m grateful for my customers and the opportunity to do the work I love.

Here’s a master bedroom, bathroom and closet remodel we just finished.
We took out a whirlpool bath deck tub and an odd shaped enclosed tile shower and switched their locations. The new shower is a clear floor, barrier free shower with two hand held shower heads, a bench and shadow box for shampoo. We used a linear drain. The tub is free standing with a floor mount faucet. We used the same quartz as the countertop on top of the half wall and bench and on the bottom of the shadow box.
We kept the cabinetry but installed new countertops with undermount sinks. I replaced a wall mounted light box with 2-4” can lights and 3 wall sconces.
The closet was reconfigured to allow for hanging and shoe storage.
In the bedroom I eliminated two can lights over the bed and added wall sconces on each side, controlled by a switch on each side. We installed a wall mounted headboard
In the sitting/office area, I replaced one ceiling fixture with 6-4” can lights. We tore out the tile hearth in front of the corner fireplace and added new wall tile around it. We added a quartz top on the bedroom cabinet to blend with the bathroom
Everything has a fresh coat of paint

Another commercial remodel ready for my great subcontractors. Demo done to expose the areas needed for plumbing relocations. New framing done and ready for electricians and drywall.
Blessed to be able to still do my own framing after so many decades of the hard physical wear and tear this trade dishes out.

I had a stucco patio ceiling, on a remodel I’m working on, that was supported by 2x4 and structural screws because it was falling down.
I tore out the stucco and installed 1x8 v-rustic pine. I’ll add trims around the edges after stucco repairs and color are done.

In this episode of the VBC chronicles, I was tasked with removing a dormant bed hive honey comb inside a wood box.
After trying to access the wall cavity by removing a couple of pieces of siding, I had to open up the inside wall to access the top of it.
I removed it and bagged it. I’m suggesting that they use a blow dryer or heat gun to get the remaining honey to loosen up.
I had to use my shop steam cleaner to clean up my tools.
On to the next adventure tomorrow.

This baby is ready for it’s trip back to the water tomorrow morning. The boat owners painted and re installed the bumper balls and tie downs. They took off the upper rails and totes from on top for clearance going down the road.
I had a new stainless steel rear deck made and I installed new aluminum sheeting to it. Front skids are new aluminum. I reinstalled the outboard motor and I had the mechanic reconnect everything.
The crane is supposed to be here tomorrow morning at 7 to load it on the transport trailer.
Happy boating Mayos!!!!

About this time of year in 1983, Lori and I decided it was a good idea to go into business for myself and try and give it a go to make a good living. We'd been married 2 years, didn't have any kids and had very few bills besides rent. My first job was adding on to a rental house for Neal Barker on Mariposa St. in Lindsay. I've done so many different kinds of jobs since then and over quite an area in our state. Countless remodels, new homes, new commercial buildings, service station canopies, metal buildings, patios and one off type projects later and it's still fun most every day.
This business allowed us to give our 4 kids a good upbringing by giving them an opportunity and example of what work is. Now they get to teach the 13(soon 14) of our grandkids the same work ethic.
I've been blessed to have so many wonderful customers, employees, sub contractors and suppliers. I've made lifetime friends to many.
My plan is go on another 10 years so that I can hit 50 years in business as long as I'll be able, at 72, to still do the physical part of the work that I love.
My original conversation with Lori was asking her if she was fine with this idea(I guess she still is); I also told her that I had 1 condition and that was if I woke up one day and didn't want to do this work anymore, I was going to quit. Needless to say, I love this work I do.
I appreciate all the support over the years and look forward to more great projects for great people.
