Hey ya'll. I haven't been posting much, and my dresser I'm working on is still being worked on. Why, you might wonder.

Three weeks ago my Daddy had 3 strokes in a week. Two at home which resulted in an ambulance ride and one in Icu. I've been helping with him at home with after care. I'm still gonna make Grain & Grit Restored a wonderful business, however at this moment caring for him is important as well. He is doing better, he can slowly walk around. He can move his left arm some. I told him, he is 79 years old, work in progress like we all are.

Just continue to pray for him (if you're a prayer like me) and us as a family moving forward. In the meantime, I do have my 1966 matching chair and ottoman for sale. I could use the extra funds for my gas to travel from pickens county to oconee county. If you're interested, send me a message!

I appreciate all ya'll following along on this new journey of mine on here. Thank yall! The pic is Daddy and I this past Easter celebration at his home. 💜

Tomorrow finishing the rest of the prep sanding work. Hopefully tomorrow evening this dresser will be ready for the stain, primer and paint. I can't wait to see the outcome on it. ⏳️💜

Note - I definitely wear my ppe in this breathing mask because I do have lung disease. However, I'm not letting that hold me back!!

Just a sneak peak on the top after stripper was applied, then cleaned and a rough sanding.

Note- Why I didn't sand over the curves of the edges yet. I'm waiting on Amazon tomorrow for my foam sanding pads that connects to my electric sander!

Starting with this beautiful dresser! Prep work first, cleaning, sanding soon!! This is a quick peek into it. 💜

This is what we staged today. It's a vintage 1966 Chair and matching ottoman. I have for sale for $100.00 because it does have a few places of minor damage, being honest about it. However, it was built to withstand 65 years so far.
No restored on this from me. Just a good wipe down and staged it. ( I done a whole photo shoot with this being the star 🌟 🤩).

My following project pieces to stain, paint or make them modern looking. Starting tomorrow for which the dresser it will be the only two toned piece, including stain and paint!! I can't wait to show pictures when they are all done!! The rocker is the piece I'm keeping for my porch.

Introducing Grain & Grit Restored 🪵✨

This is more than a furniture business to me — it’s personal.

Grain & Grit Restored was built on something deeper than sanding wood, applying stain or paint. It was built on the belief that what’s worn down, overlooked, or counted out still has value.

The grain is the story — the foundation that was always there.
The grit is the work, the pressure, and the process it takes to restore something back to life.

And if I’m being honest… this business is a reflection of my own journey.

God has brought me through seasons that could have broken me — but instead, He used them to build strength, patience, and purpose in me. He showed me that nothing is too far gone to be restored.

That’s what I carry into every piece I touch.

I don’t just refinish furniture — I restore it. I take the time to bring it back to life, stronger and more beautiful than before.

Because I believe the same way God restores us… we can restore what was built to last.

Thank you for supporting my journey, the one's around me and this business. This is just the beginning.
