I want to thank everyone again, for all of your support since I began this page, and this mission. I was asked quite a few times again last night what my motivation and reasoning for doing this is, so I want to offer up an explanation 😊
I grew up in a small business family. Specifically, I grew up in my father's one business that he kept, an Italian restaurant. My dad's restaurant was a staple in the small city I grew up in, and popular with everyone from city leaders, to students, to people who were down on their luck and needed food or a job. When the city began to grow (much like Leland is now), he could not compete financially with the large chains, retired and closed down the restaurant.
My goal is to raise awareness about all of the wonderful small businesses we have here, and help them sustain, through this unprecedented growth we are experiencing. I don't want to see any of them forgotten or forced to close, just because they don't have the financial means to compete with larger businesses advertising budgets.
Our small businesses are owned and operated by residents. They are supported by residents. They have chosen to raise their families here, and invest in their community. I created this page to help the business owners, the residents, and the community.
To answer a few other questions, no, I am not getting paid or making any money from this. No, I do not have a college degree. No, I'm not running for office. (That was my favorite 😂) Yes, I have a full time job, kids that I homeschool, and I do have a life 😊
I am simply one person, trying to make a difference and an impact in our community. Everything I do will not please everyone, as this is a work in progress. So please be patient, ask me any questions you'd like, as I am as transparent as they come.
