Today we found a receipt…

A retainer deposit for an attorney from 1976 hidden inside an envelope that had been taped to the back of a dresser drawer. 👀

(Don’t worry—we’ve blocked out all personal information. ❤️)

That’s some next-level hiding spot commitment.

Over the years, we’ve found crayons, toys, jewelry, and enough dust to start a second business… but this one might be our favorite.

Nearly 50 years ago, somebody thought:

“I need a safe place for this… and I definitely don’t want it found.”

And apparently that place was a dresser drawer. 😆

We’ve had fun coming up with theories about the story behind it. A secret? A fresh start? An important life decision?

We’ll never know. 🤷‍♀️

One of the things we love most about refinishing furniture is that every piece has a history. Sometimes it gives us a little glimpse into the lives of the people who owned it before.

This beautiful piece came from our inventory and was waiting for the perfect custom transformation. Chrissy chose colors that instantly make you think of peaceful mornings, calm water, and relaxing days at the lake.

We gave it a fresh new look, and now it’s headed to its new home by the water. 🏡🌊

This bookshelf was about as exciting as plain toast when we found it. 😅
Just a basic cream shelf sitting under fluorescent thrift store lighting…

But give us a little vision, fresh paint, styled shelves, and subtle detail paper… and suddenly she looks like something straight out of a boutique home store. 🤍

Proof that not every transformation has to be dramatic to make a huge difference.
Sometimes the magic is simply taking something overlooked… and making it feel intentional again.
