Two weeks ago I was happy to participate in the April meeting of the Indianapolis Chapter of the International Association of Penturners. It's been a while since I've posted anything because of many changes going on with me. Two years ago I painted my house, spending over 400 hours over the course of the summer on the project. Then last year was spent fixing a few things on it and moving out and into a new location. I still don't have the shop set up and am temporarily working out of one stall in the garage and a lot of stuff still stored in the barn. Hopefully I'll have more updates once I get organized and can get back to making sawdust!

Finished up this set of four Lever Action ballpoints last night. Woods used left to right are Cherry Burl, Zebrawood, Afzelia Burl and Buckeye Burl. Finish on the two to the left is Antique Nickle and the two on the right are finished in Antique Brass.

It's been just about two years since I last turned a pen (I know, way too long). Last year was spent painting my house and this year was spent moving me and my shop out of it. In just the past week or too I've unpacked enough equipment that I could start up some pen making operations once again.

This lever-action click pen, fitted with a Parker style ink cartridge is the first (of many I hope) off the line from my new location. I'll be completing three more in the next day or two.

Photos were taken with my iPhone 5 and not up to the quality I get from the Nikon DSLR, but take a look and let me know what you think!

I've not been active on FB as much lately but I'm still here. There's been a lot of changes happening in life and moving then setting up a new shop in the coming months will be a big part of those changes. Still lots of inventory, so don't forget to visit my Etsy store if you're interested in something I've got made and ready to ship!

Merry Christmas Everyone! Duties around repainting the house this summer and fall kept me busy enough that I have not made any new pens for 2014, but have a fair number from 2013 still for sale in the Etsy and eBay stores. I'm looking forward to getting back in the shop in 2015 and start creating new beautiful pens and other turnings, so stay tuned in as I begin to ramp up for more turning time once again!

For now, I just wish you all a Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year!

Fruits of three 90+ degree days in the shop Mon-Wed. and I have to say there's some real beauties in this batch! Covering the materials gamut from Abalone, to Acrylic and Feathers to Wood.
