Flint Michigan underscores the importance of “Knowing your water”.

Recent news arising from Flint Michigan’s drinking water crisis has revealed the cumulative effects of poorly maintained water systems and treatment plants. Efforts to save money have overshadowed the necessity to perform critical infrastructural maintenance and provide clean drinkable water.

Unfortunately, it is a foregone conclusion that Flint is merely the tip of the iceberg. As budgets are slashed and infrastructure upgrades apparently unpopular, public and private water systems have taken steps to mitigate costs at the expense of water cleanliness.

Meanwhile ground contamination from agriculture, industry and Oil & Gas operations has called many rural well water systems into question due to contaminants seeping into the water supplies from the ground.
