About me
Hello, my name is Audrey. I live in the greater Las Vegas area, and I have 23 years in the avian world, as a owner, groomer, and breeder.
It all started with a pair of Zebra Finches, then at the age of 14, I was given a Maximilian Pionus parrot as a Christmas present from Judee Foster when she had her store on Water St. My passion caring for parrots just grew from there. I joined the bird club and volunteered at meet & greets, schools and elderly homes, I also worked with breeders cleaning cages back in '99-'00. At 16, I started working at Bird Gear, and I was given many opportunities to learn and develop my skills in handling all types of birds. When Bird Gear closed, I began working with a wonderful lady, Shawn Gallagher at Gallagher Birds located at the Indoor Fantastic Swap Meet. This experience helped to increase my knowledge and skills, and I worked there for 4 years until the store closed.
Fast forward to today, I have been grooming for 17 years and I have the knowledge needed to ensure your feathered friend is kept as safe as possible. I am very experienced with issues affecting the the parrot’s beak, and I understand the anatomy of the upper and lower maxilla/mandible and to how to realign it if needed.
There are different clips I can perform to your preference. I typically use clippers and a file, but also use a small electric nail file with professional nail bits to work on the beak, so I can easily reach all of the small places. My goal is to groom a bird in less than 3-8min to help reduce stress and keep the parrot happy during the procedure.
