House-Made is a small workshop located in Missouri. Our mission is to provide handmade items that bring both function and joy. That is construction.

You know, you love it so much you can't wait to use it again! Made from local hardwoods by Brian House (ah, House Made!) A quote I've always been fond of from an early modern architect Le Corbusier:

“You employ stone, wood and concrete, and with these materials you build houses and palaces. Ingenuity is at work. But suddenly you touch my heart, you do me good, I am happy and I say: This is beautiful. That is Architecture. Art enters in.”

Texas Road Trip!
Our meanderings included a visit to Luckenbach and then Albert Tx. One of the old goats at Luckenbach told me, "just down that trail is a cypress tree over 600 years old and next to it is a live oak about the same." Sure enough - some amazing displays of nature.

Similar over at Albert Icehouse and Dancehall - Live oak over 500 years old - twice as old as our country.

Worth the trip for sure! Don't forget your boots.

Looks like I couldn't think straight when I made this.

This simple chunk of wood is the star of this centerpiece! It’s a walnut crown (where the limbs emerge from the trunk) with bark inclusions on the side. And tons of feathered/flame in the grain.

Another winter/semi spring cleaning project of a piece that I started a while back and never finished (imagine that).

The first finish coat is setting up and will git er done soon.

Catching up on posting some projects.
Last fall someone asked me if I had something round for a small end table. And of course there was a piece from the Land of Unfinished Projects that fit the bill.
It's part a walnut root ball and really cleaned up well.
Why I never finished it? No idea, but this time it worked out perfectly!

Another speaker project. Mark Audio full range sounds pretty darn good. Highs over 20khz and lows in the 70hz range.
Of course there’s more speaker projects in the future!
